Hey! We just had our first ultrasound for baby #3, and now I’m getting excited about names.
We have a girl name picked out ([name_f]Camille[/name_f], nn [name_f]Cami[/name_f]) to go along with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] ([name_f]Cora[/name_f]) and [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] ([name_m]Anders[/name_m]), but now we need a boy name! Any of you name experts want to throw something out there? We had such a hard time deciding on [name_m]Anderson[/name_m], I can’t imagine falling in love with another boy name.
We clearly like names that can be turned into a nickname and that aren’t super popular. Thoughts? I’m looking forward to your suggestions!

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
I’d like to suggest [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]… [name_m]Monty[/name_m] for short. It’s a stylish surname like [name_m]Anderson[/name_m], and has a vintage style like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
It would be helpful to hear more about why you love [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] and why it took you so long to settle on it. Off the top of my head, a couple of ideas that could go well with [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] are [name_m]Dixon[/name_m], [name_m]Duncan[/name_m], [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Griff[/name_m]), and [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Frank[/name_m]).
[name_f]Happy[/name_f] to suggest more if you provide more specifics!
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m] - [name_m]Anders[/name_m]
Are both lovely! And go so well together!
Both 3-4 syllables long and shorten to 2
Your girls name pick
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] -[name_f]Cami[/name_f]
Also a very sweet name that goes well with your children. Its similar to [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - [name_f]Cora[/name_f] in many ways. Both start with c- its 3 syllables like [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] and a longer name like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] obviously. It ends with an a like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] but the nn ends differently that your current children so I think it fits very well. I always say if you have a girl and use the name what then will you consider if you have another girl or boy. And if you have a boy and choose something will you still use [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] if you have another girl. (If you did have 4+ children- just for thought on what to choose, this sometimes helps) for example [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] starts with an a, if you had 2 girls starting with c would you want a second son to have a name that started with A? If you had a 3rd girl would her name also start with a c? Is this a theme of sorts or just randomly names you like. Both are fine just food for thought. For example… I have friends who have one son who’s name starts with a j, he has little sisters who’s names begin with C, L, C, A, C … And two of the girls names are the same but the first letter is different, and two of them start just the same, and 3 end in a… The names sort of all link together in ways but manage to be a very different and nice sib set that I really like! So you can do whatever works and when it comes together it showcases your likes a bit more I think. Once you have there children people see more a sort of vibe if you will in your family. You often see families with for example [name_m]Kevin[/name_m], kadin, [name_f]Kamrin[/name_f]… ( yes a real family I met recently and I wasn’t suprised… There were more kids but … Well its tough to rember which was which) its clear that stylistically they think they’re being clever and linking things together and they liked [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] so its easy to say a name where just switching out a few letters… And you see… Obviously you’re going for another long and lovely name that you feel connected to and that you’ve put a lot of thought into it so I think you’ll find something really perfect really soon. Of the suggestions do far I love [name_m]Monty[/name_m] long name that fits nicely with a sweet and different nn. There also an old folk song it makes me think of that’s a nice connection. If you’re going with an A name I think that there are a few really lovely names out there - I feel like your style is more sort of names that are as pretty as they were when they were more commonly used and that’s something I can get on board with. Maybe look at Scandinavian names and English names and [name_m]French[/name_m] names… Another option is if you’d like your boys names to end the same like your girls names… [name_m]Julian[/name_m] would be my top pick from the suggestions offered but [name_m]Anders[/name_m] and [name_u]Jules[/name_u] as nns are at the same time too similar and too different. Maybe go through some names putting these specifics in and see if anything jumps out at you.
I think I would go with
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m] - [name_m]Anders[/name_m]
&
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] - [name_f]Cami[/name_f]
Or
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] - [name_u]Alex[/name_u] (might be too close to [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] though- and [name_m]Anders[/name_m] & [name_m]Xander[/name_m] is too much for sure but something like this)
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] - [name_m]Topher[/name_m] (all c names but [name_m]Anders[/name_m]? And different because the nn is a t name)
[name_m]Davison[/name_m] -[name_m]Davie[/name_m] (another son name but the nn is dofferent)
… I’m
