Sibling name for Lyra

Hello, hoping you may be able to help
me. We are struggling to find a name that we agree on for our second daughter, she will be a sister to [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] so would like a name that fits with that. DH likes more traditional names whereas I like slightly more
unusual ones.

Here are a few we’ve considered but none seem like ‘the one’.

[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_u]Arya[/name_u]
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] (do like this but as a nickname for something longer)

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like other celestial/greek/mythological/musical names?

[name_f]Althea[/name_f]
Giena - a star in cygnus.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - pleiades.
Alhena - from gemini.
[name_f]Carina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] - I prefer this spelling.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalassa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alya[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilsa[/name_f]

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] - I like this (prn th-ee-a; how do you pronounce it?)
[name_u]Arya[/name_u] - way too close to [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] visually. One letter different. unless you are into matchy–plenty of people are, and they do sound different.
[name_f]Aster[/name_f] - I like this name.
[name_f]Erin[/name_f] - to me this comes nowhere close to the beauty of [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] - cute. how about [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]?

[name_m]How[/name_m] about something else short, sweet, and slightly exotic sounding: [name_f]Esme[/name_f]; [name_f]Este[/name_f]; [name_f]Zara[/name_f]; [name_f]Zora[/name_f]; [name_u]Zola[/name_u]?

I love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]! [name_f]Love[/name_f] the books. Going to be hard to top that one. Here are a few suggestions for a sibling to [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]:

[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Alba[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]

What about [name_f]Nova[/name_f]? [name_f]Nova[/name_f] was the first name that came to mind when I read the title of your post.

Some others that I think go well with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]:

[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].

I know a [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f].

I have to suggest [name_f]Poet[/name_f], sorry! haha.
Other ideas are:
Lucielle
[name_f]Marcheline[/name_f]

[name_f]Vespera[/name_f]
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Anita[/name_f]
[name_f]Maple[/name_f]
[name_f]Chaya[/name_f]
[name_f]Riva[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f]

[name_f]Tosca[/name_f]! Or [name_u]Keeva[/name_u], [name_f]Oona[/name_f], or [name_f]Tova[/name_f]. Those all have that mystical, dreamy vibe plus a kick of pluckiness, too, to match [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]IMO[/name_f]! I also like [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], or any of the -[name_f]Elle[/name_f] names: Mielle, [name_f]Revel[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], Sabriel, [name_f]Christelle[/name_f], etc…[name_f]Reverie[/name_f] would be sweet, too. Good luck!

Thank you for your replies. There are certainly some names I can add to my list now. I think we are having trouble finding a name that is quirky enough for me but mainstream enough for dh. This picking names business is hard.

I do like other celestial/musical names. From your list I particularly like [name_f]Carina[/name_f], [name_f]Thalassa[/name_f] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is actually my preferred spelling too but do prefers it with a y. We’ve run into pronunciation problems with the people we’ve tried it out on though.

Thanks for your opinions, I like seeing how other people react to names too. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] we pronounce as you’ve written. [name_f]Erin[/name_f] I agree with you, it’s one of DHs preferred choices though. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] I like, dh doesn’t. I like [name_f]Este[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f], those are two i might add to our list

Thanks, we are definitely finding it hard to find a name we like as much as [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Alba[/name_f] but dh isn’t keen.

[name_f]Nova[/name_f] is really pretty, I like that. Thank you for your other suggestions too, I will run them by dh and see if he likes any (he is the more difficult to please!)

I haven’t heard [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] before, it sounds pretty. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] I really like but I feel it is more of a shortened name than a name in itself.

I like [name_f]Poet[/name_f]! Dh would never go for it though. He sways towards less unusual names than me. Lots of pretty names on your list. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and lyric I particularly like, though I think [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_u]Lyric[/name_u] would be too similar.

These are pretty. I like the dreamy but plucky names. I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f] names too.

My daughter’s name is [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] as well and we are expecting another girl. We are having a hard time choosing! I love [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as a nick name. [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]? [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_u]Arya[/name_u] are really pretty as well. Good luck!
