I’m looking for siblings names for our little one that is currently on the way. Our boy name is set in stone, but we have been having a difficult time agreeing on a girl name.
Some names I like are [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. He has already said no to these names. I would love a name that has a cute nickname. He doesn’t care for nicknames.
He hasn’t found very many names he likes. So far, the only names he likes that I would consider are [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to give your opinions on the ones listed and add any you feel would fit in well.
Hmm…stylistically, [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] are pretty close to your picks. Here are some other traditional names that might bridge the gap. Most have built-in nicknames for you, but a few are short and don’t really beg for a nickname (like [name_f]Myah[/name_f]):
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaina[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Emily[/name_f], but with that -a ending he seems to like)
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] (or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], etc., but I like the Y connection with [name_f]Myah[/name_f])
[name_f]Layla[/name_f] (or [name_f]Leila[/name_f], or [name_f]Laila[/name_f]…again, I like the Y connection)
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] was on my list. I just didn’t include it on here. He also didn’t like that one.
Some of the other names he has already said no to are:
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
I have a friend named [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and he has a friend named [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], so those are out. [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is too short and simple, in my opinion. We have a short, one syllable last name. I would like to keep the first name at least four letters long and two syllables or more. I’m also not really a fan of “lyn/lynn” names; there are certain “line” names I like. [name_f]Layla[/name_f] or one of the other spelling options might be a name he would like. I’ll ask him about it. I don’t think he would like any of the other names listed.
