Ell0ry Elizab3th (honor name) Jünglyn (Korean heritage middle name) and long last name starting with “Cone” and ending with X
As we think about future siblings, I’m finding it tricky to match the uniqueness of our daughter’s name while looking at names still on our list. I love gender neutral and surname names, especially for girls, as well as Biblical names. My husband leans more toward traditional names typically. Open to all suggestions! Here are some favorites/current ideas below:
Girls - Addison, Hollis, Margot (it’s getting a little trendy for my taste though), Rowan. Husband loves Adelaide/Ada and Addy nickname.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] [name_f]Mariette[/name_f] with your daughter’s name! Both surname-y first names with more familiar counterparts (a multitude of [name_f]El[/name_f]- names, Holly) and a more feminine middle name. I also like the symmetry of the double ‘l’ without excessive matchiness. In truth, I actually think they all fit well for different reasons. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Ezer[/name_u] is a particularly unexpected combo (in a good way) and almost the reverse style of EE. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is definitely having a moment right now, and I expect that trend to continue for at least a few more years. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] fits well, but also slightly on the trendy side for both boys and girls. [name_u]Addison[/name_u] is almost a bit past its prime these days; I much prefer [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
For boys, I think [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is a great choice. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] itself would fit just fine, especially since it’s almost expected that people have different styles for boy and girl names. I especially like it with a more surname-y middle – [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Leland[/name_u] (fun alliteration). I’d just avoid [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Wilson[/name_u] as he’s a fairly well-known actor (and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] Wilson’s brother!) [name_u]Keller[/name_u] and [name_m]Wells[/name_m] are bit too close to your daughter’s name for me. Not unusable, but an easy tool for elimination. [name_u]Leland[/name_u] brings a bit of vintage to your sibling set though it’s a bit ‘d’ heavy with [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. [name_u]Lowen[/name_u] is also a cool choice, though paired with your daughter it’s almost like you split up the name [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].
Suggestions:
[name_u]Adair[/name_u], [name_u]Arden[/name_u], [name_u]Alden[/name_u] (could maybe still get [name_f]Addy[/name_f] at a stretch?)
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]
[name_u]Briar[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Greer[/name_u]
[name_u]Marin[/name_u], [name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u]
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
[name_u]Flannery[/name_u]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_u]Navy[/name_u]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Maple[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] (nn Indie?)
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_u]Harlow[/name_u]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] Marriette, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] - they feel nicely balanced!
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Wells[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] are brilliant!
In terms of [name_m]Luke[/name_m], I don’t think it’s too at odds with your daughter’s - I think the [name_f]El[/name_f]- start makes it feel familiar despite its uniqueness, so they don’t sound outlandish together. You could do a bolder middle - like [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Leander[/name_u], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
