We have an 11 month old named [name]Laura[/name], and I’m trying to come up with potential sibling names, more out of fun than anything else at this point.
Mom and Dad are [name]David[/name] and [name]Sarah[/name], so we are looking for another name that is pretty much in the same spirit of [name]David[/name], [name]Sarah[/name], and [name]Laura[/name]. Another five letter name would be nice but not essential. Here is my girl list so far (note – I have many other more non-classical favorites, such as [name]Lila[/name], [name]Chloe[/name], etc. but I really want ones that “go” with [name]Laura[/name]):
I think [name]Chloe[/name] works too actually. [name]Both[/name] [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Chloe[/name] have nature meanings ([name]Chloe[/name]= blooming/verdant, or young green shoot if you want to go with Nameberry, and [name]Laura[/name] = laurel). They are also both very old names, one Greek, one Latin, and have both been used in love poetry.
[name]Laura[/name] is such a pretty and timeless name : ) I agree that [name]Julia[/name] “goes” well with [name]Laura[/name] - I suggested [name]Julie[/name] instead because [name]Julia[/name] has become quite common while [name]Julie[/name] has become a little less so, which can be nice. But I think both are pretty timeless. Good luck! : )
My daughter is named [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I love the name [name]Laura[/name].
[name]Laura[/name] and…
Girls

[name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Brenna[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] - love!
[name]Dinah[/name]

I was actually going to suggest [name]Sarah[/name], but that’s your name! [name]David[/name] and [name]Sarah[/name] are very Biblical names, but I see you’ve chosen a more traditional classic rather than a Biblical name for your baby girl. [name]Laura[/name] is a timeless favorite, so great choice! I love [name]Julia[/name] as a name, but [name]Audrey[/name] is perfect with [name]Laura[/name].
Are we also sticking to two syllables? I don’t think you need to, but let me know…
I love [name]Claire[/name] best with [name]Laura[/name] (I would’ve said [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Emily[/name], but both are rather more popular than [name]Claire[/name]), but it seems you’ve started a trend in your family of girls’ names ending in the A sound, so, my favorite is [name]Eliza[/name]! Of course, you most certainly don’t need to continue this trend!
I just found this via a google search- I have the same problem! My little one is named [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], which is just the most perfect name ever.
I’m having a hard time coming up with a good girl name. We have the boy name picked- [name]Charles[/name] [name]Howard[/name]. I think [name]Charlotte[/name] is a good choice, but really want to use [name]Charles[/name] and I’m not sure we’re done having kids yet. If we get to the last baby and they’ve all been girls, we’ll use [name]Charlotte[/name] if it hasn’t gotten too popular.
I think [name]Eliza[/name] is my top choice, but would that be weird since [name]Laura[/name]'s middle name is [name]Elizabeth[/name]? Seems a little unoriginal.
Oh, and [name]Ellie[/name] is out- our dog’s name is [name]Eleanor[/name].
Thanks in advance- let me know what you picked and if anyone has any other good suggestions, I’d love to hear some more!
[name]Hi[/name] – I’m the original poster; my daughter [name]Laura[/name]'s middle name is [name]Elizabeth[/name] too. And there is another poster on these boards ([name]Susan[/name]) who also has a [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
[name]Charles[/name] and [name]Laura[/name] go great together. I do think [name]Eliza[/name] is too similar to your daughter’s middle name [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Here are the girl names on my list if we have another girl (i’m not even pregnant yet though):
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Nina[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] (I prefer [name]Clara[/name] but it rhymes with my own name [name]Sarah[/name], which by the way would also be a great sibling name for [name]Laura[/name])
