I really love the names [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the Lost connection is too much? Much as I like the show, I’m not sure if the association would be too strong. Combos I like are [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f], nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f], if that makes any difference.
I immediately thought about Lost…but that show is already old and it’s not likely that [name_m]Jack[/name_m] & [name_f]Kate[/name_f]'s classmates would ever make the connection. Plus, they’re two names with a long history of usage. If they were more obscure names I might advise against it.
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] are classic, well-known names that aren’t defined by a TV series. The many, many people who have not seen it will not make the connection, and tbh I’m not sure whether fans of the show would either, though not having seen it I guess I can’t really tell.
Btw [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is such a happy name! It makes my name-nerd heart give a little skip of gladness
I did not think of Lost. However, just an FYI the new tv show This is Us has a [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and a [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and it is becoming uber popular.
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] seem like such down to earth names that I doubt they’d ever be connected to pop culture. The only names I can think of that would have such strong associations to a show, or book, etc would be unusual names. Like [name_f]Katniss[/name_f] and the Hunger Games. That’s the only [name_f]Katniss[/name_f] I’ve ever heard of. I have heard of many character Kates or Jacks, as well as many [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or Jacks in real life. They don’t make me think of anything right away.
I think it’s been long enough, and the names are common enough that it wouldn’t matter anyway. I was a Lost fan… watched the whole series, and didn’t think of it.
Maybe [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would elicit a Lost association, but not [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. Both are too classic and established in their own right.
Didn’t think of Lost. [name_m]Just[/name_m] two great classics.
