[name_u]Baby[/name_u] no. 2 is due soon and while before my daughter was born, [name_m]Leo[/name_m] was my favourite boy name, since we ended up calling her [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], I’m not so sure that [name_m]Leo[/name_m] would work if we have a boy. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
Personally I think it depends how many kids you plan on having. 2 or 3 names starting with the same letter can work, but more than that I think risks veering towards Duggar territory.
I think [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are very cute together.
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] sounds like a great sib-set
They sound cute together, but yeah I guess it is only an issue if you have more than two kids.
Other options - [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] or laurel and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]?
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are fantastic together!
In terms of siblings with the same first initials- 2 is a coincidence, and 3 is a theme.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] the Duggars said that their first couple kids having J names was a coincidence, but subsequent children were named to fit the theme.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] are great names, and they sound lovely together
I agree with the two-but-not-three idea stated by lucialucentum. I like a lot of J and E names, and might end up doubling up (although I myself have a J name, so wouldn’t want more than one kid with that initial.)[name_f]My[/name_f] mother is one of eight, two of whom have J names. Everyone else has their own initial. But I wouldn’t go for more than two repeats, because that’s where it starts to get cheesy. [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a good set!
I would try to find something else. I’m not a big fan of duplicating initials.
I think [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] sound good together, but if you have another child, it will become [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and “[name_f]Jane[/name_f]”. The Ls start to run together.
I also agree that two kids with a matching initial is a coincidence, three is a little too matchy. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestions of [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]!
Thanks everyone, we are definitely only having two so it sounds like it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I forgot to mention also that they will definitely have different middle initials and if it is a boy, then mistaken identity should be less of an issue anyway.
