Sibling names, too close?

Is [name]Elijah[/name] too similar to sister [name]Evangelina[/name] ([name]Evie[/name])?

Also, what do ya’ll think of the nickname [name]Eja[/name] (pronounced similar to [name]Asia[/name]) for [name]Elijah[/name] instead of [name]Eli[/name]? Are either of those nicknames too close to [name]Evie[/name]?

P.S. The same initial thing is purely a coincidence. We like very few boy names and unfortunately, we already used an E name for [name]Evie[/name]. Other siblings will most assuredly not be E’s.

I dont think the names are too close. But i dislike the nickname asia its too fem as is eli. Does he have to use a nickname?

Yes on the nicknames! [name]Eli[/name]-- pronounced E-lie, not [name]Ellie[/name]-- you think is feminine?

I don’t think they are too close, I just don’t think [name]Evangeline[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] make a good sibset at all. What about [name]Elias[/name] or [name]Eliot[/name] if you like that sound?

I personally think something classic yet more unique would be great, like: [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Beauregard[/name] ([name]Beau[/name]), [name]Edison[/name] ([name]Eddie[/name]), [name]Garrison[/name], [name]Oliver[/name]* ([name]Ollie[/name]), [name]Remington[/name] ([name]Remy[/name]), [name]Tennyson[/name], or [name]Willoughby[/name] ([name]Will[/name]).

I want a longer name with a sort of built in nickname. [name]Oliver[/name] has been on our list, but I’m not thrilled with [name]Ollie[/name]. I also like [name]Alexander[/name]/[name]Alessandro[/name], nn [name]Alex[/name], but we have a niece [name]Alexandra[/name] who is also an [name]Alex[/name]. Hate [name]Eddie[/name]. Sorry. [name]Remy[/name] is cute but maybe a little feminine? See, boys names are such a hassle for me!

[name]Evangelina[/name] and:

[name]Augustin[/name] (nn [name]August[/name] or [name]Gus[/name])
[name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Cassius[/name] (nn [name]Cash[/name])
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Leonardo[/name]/[name]Leo[/name] (although [name]Leo[/name] is a bit close to [name]Evangelina[/name]'s [name]Lina[/name] ending)
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Phineas[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name] (nn [name]Rafe[/name])
[name]Sebastian[/name] (nn [name]Baz[/name] or [name]Seb[/name])
[name]Willem[/name]
[name]Xavier[/name]

Aside from [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], and [name]Charles[/name], I picture something at least slightly exotic sounding with [name]Evangelina[/name].

Good luck!

E-lie doesn’t sound fem no. But it’s not the best nickname. [name]Elijah[/name] it a great name with a not so great nickname. I like the suggestion of [name]Maxwell[/name] nn [name]Max[/name] or sebastian nn seb or baz. Also like elias and silas.

I think siblings should have there own initials.

[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Quentin[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Octavian[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Thaddeus[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Lazarus[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Jonas[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Jedidiah[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Gulliver[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Ulysses[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Balthazar[/name]
[name]Evangelina[/name] & [name]Phineas[/name]

I see how [name]Ollie[/name] really isn’t the best nickname, sounds like a dog. But I love [name]Oliver[/name]! Could be a cute middle name? I think [name]Alexander[/name] nn [name]Alex[/name] is too, well, common to go with [name]Evangelina[/name], personally. I wouldn’t want to call my son [name]Eddie[/name], either, but I thought [name]Edison[/name] was cool. And, [name]Remy[/name] might be a touch feminine.

I’m not going to lie, my favorites off of that list I gave you were [name]Beauregard[/name] and [name]Willoughby[/name]. I understand that they are a bit off the beaten path, but I thought [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Beau[/name] or [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Will[/name] were just so cute together!

Other names you may like: [name]Phineas[/name] (Phin, [name]Finn[/name]), [name]Thaddeus[/name] ([name]Thad[/name], [name]Tad[/name]), [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Teddy[/name], [name]Theo[/name]), or [name]Tobias[/name] ([name]Toby[/name])? Like any of those names? I think they are all cute with [name]Evangelina[/name]!

I don’t think [name]Elijah[/name] is too similar but [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] would be too close for me. I don’t really care for the combination of styles with [name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Evangelina[/name] though. [name]How[/name] about:

[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name] nn [name]Toby[/name] (I love this one for you–[name]Evie[/name] and [name]Toby[/name] is adorable and both stand nicely on their own)
[name]Truman[/name] nn [name]Tru[/name] (I love the nn [name]Tru[/name]!)
