I have one son named [name]Bennett[/name]; I am expecting my second child, and looking for names that go well with [name]Bennett[/name]. We don’t know if it’s a boy or girl but are having a hard time with both, for different reasons…girls we love too many names…boys we have a hard time finding any names we love.
For boys I like stronger, less common (though not necessarily unusual or unique) names that can be shortened to a more common nn if the child chooses at some point in their lives. I also really like last names as first names on boys, but that’s not a requirement.
For girls I am pretty open, but tend to like pretty, feminine names with cute nn options.
So I would love to hear your ideas for boy & girl names that will go well with older brother [name]Bennett[/name]!
Wow thanks guys! [name]Hudson[/name] was actually our “for sure boy name” for a good part of the pregnancy with [name]Bennett[/name], but a friend ended up using it (completely by coincidence) just weeks before he was born leaving us completely stumped for a boy name (he was nameless for three days after birth…desperately trying to avoid that happening again with this baby!). And I adore the name [name]Cooper[/name] but unfortunately by brother has already claimed that one. I really like the suggestion of [name]Brighton[/name] for a boy - do you have any nn ideas for [name]Brighton[/name]? Nn is not a must but is something I would like.
For girls I really like the suggestions of [name]Camille[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name], and any of the names that use “[name]Anna[/name]” as I tend to be drawn to the “[name]Anna[/name]” sound, and it honors my mom. What do you guys think of [name]Breanna[/name] with [name]Bennett[/name]? Possible nn [name]Brea[/name]? We have also been considering [name]Violet[/name]…it was my Grandmothers name and it is just so pretty!
Thanks again, you guys are awesome and I really appreciate the suggestions!
I have a [name]Bennett[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t you just love it?! We are very anti nickname, so he is always “[name]Bennett[/name]”. We also have a little girl named [name]Clara[/name]. If she would have been a boy, she was going to be [name]Elliot[/name] or [name]Grey[/name]. Other girl names we considered:
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Camille[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Anne[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
I think you should use [name]Violet[/name] if you have a girl. So gorgeous and with the family connection, it is really special. good luck!

I do absolutely love [name]Bennett[/name]…that’s the problem…I can’t find any other names I love as much!!!
[name]Clara[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name] is a really nice sibset - your kids have great names! (my name is [name]Carla[/name] so I could never use it for a daughter). I think [name]Camille[/name] is really pretty too. As you can see from my post I am guilty of being attracted to nn’s! My husband and I both grew up with old non nic nameable names, so I think that’s why I just want to give our kids the option. [name]Violet[/name] is my husband’s first choice for a girl too. I think [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name] would be a cute duo…I will run that one by my husband.
[name]Bennett[/name] and:
GIRLS:
[name]Sophia[/name] - I know it’s common but I just love the sibset of [name]Ben[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name].
[name]Peyton[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] - a little rhymy with [name]Bennett[/name] and you might be dooming yourself to -et endings with future kids if you plan to have more. but still a beautiful name and a great namesake.
I don’t love [name]Breanna[/name], it seems a little common and plain next to [name]Bennett[/name].
[name]Anna[/name] variations:
Thank you again guys for all the suggestions. I love tons of the girl names suggested…so many are so beautiful (again, that’s the problem!). But even out of all of these I just don’t see a boy name I [name]LOVE[/name]. I think I am always just going to have a hard time with boys names (who knows, maybe this one’s a girl and I won’t have to worry about it!). Does anyone else have this problem? Find it way easier to find names you like for one sex but not the other? Boys names I like (but won’t use for a variety of reasons) include [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], and [name]Cooper[/name]…I don’t know if these really fit a theme, but do they remind you of any other names that might just be the right one for me? Again, I really, really appreciate all the help, you guys are great!
Thanks again for all the suggestions everyone. Right now I am thinking I like [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Austen[/name] a lot (love the nn [name]Ozzy[/name]), but not sure how well [name]Austen[/name] goes with [name]Bennett[/name]? Thinking [name]Caleb[/name] or [name]Lucas[/name] sound better with [name]Bennett[/name] than [name]Austen[/name] does. What do you think? I think [name]Luke[/name] & [name]Ben[/name] would make a cute duo. Also concerned about the popularity of all these names.
Walshe44, I defiantly like surnames as first names for boys, but didn’t even know [name]Lucas[/name] was a surname - thanks! Have also been considering [name]Pearson[/name] ([name]Pierce[/name]) lately.
