The most common spelling I’ve seen on girls is [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], which turns it into more of a place name. I think this is the version that would be least likely to get misspelled on a girl.
I’m a big fan of the similar [name_m]French[/name_m] name [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f], though it’s likely to get misspelled or mispronunced living in an English-speaking country. But still, it’s so pretty!
I think the total opposite and maybe it’s because I’m accustomed to the letter I being in girly names but I think [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] looks more feminine and I would only call my son [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] of the two (although I wouldn’t because I think they both look rather feminine. It reminds me of a lady I knew who called her son [name_u]London[/name_u] which I ONLY think of as a girl’s name so that was weird in my opinion) Is [name_f]Sydnie[/name_f] a name? Lol I think that looks okay for a girl…ooh and [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f] looks nice too.
I love [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] for a girl, this spelling.
The only other [name_m]Sid[/name_m]-like name for a girl I can think of at the moment is [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], I also love this name.
There is also [name_f]Sedona[/name_f] and [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f], which are certainly more unique.
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u] and [name_f]Sydnie[/name_f] are the first spelling variants that come to mind.
I know a Sidiane, she’s Brazilian, and her name really fits her. I guess you could spell it Sidianne, if you really wanted to. I think it’s quirky and fun, kind of like a play on [name_f]Marianne[/name_f].
[name_f]Sidonie[/name_f] is another cute variant, and it’s got that [name_m]French[/name_m] flair to it. Something I’m very fond of myself.
Some other names that sound a lot like [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] are [name_f]Sidda[/name_f], [name_f]Sidaine[/name_f], [name_f]Siddalee[/name_f], [name_f]Sidra[/name_f] & [name_f]Sidona[/name_f].
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u] = girl, [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] = boy. I don’t like any of the other creative spellings. [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f] is nice though (and legit).
