Siena or Vienna?

[name]Vienna[/name] was my recent favorite, and less common then [name]Sienna[/name], until someone told me it reminded them of the sausage.
I still really like [name]Siena[/name], but worry it’s difficult to say with my last name that begins “SH.”
Any thoughts on these?

My current favorites are:
[name]Amara[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Ari[/name] [name]Cleopatra[/name] (my grandma’s [name]Cleo[/name], maybe over the top).
[name]Siena[/name] [name]Marlow[/name]
[name]Siena[/name] [name]Harper[/name]
[name]Vienna[/name] [name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name]
[name]Arielle[/name]
[name]Ariana[/name] (fairly popular)

other middle names ideas: [name]Reeve[/name], [name]Moselle[/name], [name]Brynn[/name]

I think [name]Vienna[/name] [name]Reeve[/name] is gorgeous. I never once thought of sausage  I just think of [name]Italy[/name], and that’s okay in my book! I do agree that [name]Siena[/name] (although, I’d spell [name]Sienna[/name]) might get all tongue-tied with an “SH” last name.

Sorry, but [name]Vienna[/name] is total sausage association for me. (Also, I used to live in NC, where there is a town called [name]Vienna[/name], pronounced VY-enna.)

[name]Venice[/name]

[name]Vienna[/name] is one of my favs too, I think its beautiful.
[name]How[/name] do you feel about the name [name]Verona[/name]?

Oops–I can’t delete this!

[name]Amara[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name]: This flows really nicely…

[name]Ari[/name] [name]Cleopatra[/name] (my grandma’s [name]Cleo[/name], maybe over the top): [name]Cleopatra[/name] is too over the top for me, but I do love [name]Cleo[/name]! What about [name]Ariadne[/name] instead of [name]Ari[/name]? [name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Cleopatra[/name] is quite exotic!

[name]Siena[/name] [name]Marlow[/name]: Too trendy for me… :frowning:

[name]Siena[/name] [name]Harper[/name]: Ditto

[name]Vienna[/name] [name]Rowan[/name]: Unfortunately, when I hear [name]Vienna[/name], after thinking of [name]Austria[/name], I definitely think of a sausage. I’m not alone on this, so if this bothers you, I’d pick another name.

[name]Viviana[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Viviana[/name]! [name]Love[/name] it!!!

[name]Valentina[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Valentina[/name]!

[name]Arielle[/name]: [name]Both[/name] [name]Arielle[/name] and [name]Ariana[/name] are too popular, but what about [name]Ariadne[/name]?

[name]Ariana[/name] (fairly popular): See above…

My favorites:
[name]Viviana[/name] [name]Moselle[/name]
Vivana [name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name] [name]Moselle[/name]

Best wishes!

even though [name]Siena[/name] is more popular, i prefer it to [name]Vienna[/name]. it just seems a bit forced to me…unless you have austrian heritage i guess.

I’m not very attracted to either [name]Siena[/name] or [name]Vienna[/name], but I would go with [name]Vienna[/name]. I didn’t think of the sausages until you mentioned it, I just thought of [name]Vienna[/name], [name]Austria[/name]. Place names aren’t my cup of tea, but [name]Vienna[/name] sounds nice. [name]Siena[/name] is just far too popular for my liking, plus it’s a brownish paint color. Blegh. Of your other ideas, [name]Amara[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name] is gorgeous! I wouldn’t hesitate to use that above your other choices. Also, [name]Ari[/name] [name]Cleopatra[/name] is pretty spiffy itself, but I might tweak it like [name]Jill[/name] suggested. [name]Ariadne[/name], [name]Arietta[/name], or [name]Arista[/name] for [name]Ari[/name], Cl”oph”e for [name]Cleopatra[/name] (Although you could stick with that too, such an awesome name), the possibilities are endless. [name]Ari[/name] is a male name for me, you see, but I’d prefer it as a nickname for something longer.

[name]Ariadne[/name] [name]Cleopatra[/name]
[name]Ariadne[/name] Cl”oph”e
[name]Arista[/name] Cl”oph”e
[name]Arietta[/name] Cl”oph”e

Thanks for the suggestions!

I probably can’t look past the sausage connotation with [name]Vienna[/name]. I wouldn’t want future playground ridicule because of her name.

What nicknames would you suggest for [name]Viviana[/name]? [name]Viv[/name]? I really love the name but worry it’s a little long. The same with [name]Valentina[/name].

I like the idea of a longer name and using “[name]Ari[/name]” as a nickname, but I’m not attracted to [name]Ariadne[/name] for some reason-I think it’s the d/n combo. Cleophee is an interesting option I hadn’t seen before.

So haven’t quite found the right one yet, and seven weeks to go!

I’m a huge fan of both [name]Viviana[/name] and [name]Valentina[/name] (and definitely prefer them to [name]Vienna[/name]).

[name]Sienna[/name] is quite popular where I live. What do you think of [name]Simona[/name]/[name]Simone[/name]?

If you love the nickname [name]Ari[/name], how about [name]Arabel[/name]/[name]Arabelle[/name]?

Good luck!

I equally like both. [name_f]Siena[/name_f] is in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] in [name_f]Austria[/name_f]. Each city is the first to come to mind when each name is said.
