Sienna or Vienna?

Which do you like better [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] or [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] and why?

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is much better than [name_f]Vienna[/name_f].

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is not the important capital city of a tiny country. [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is not technically a city at all - that’s [name_f]Siena[/name_f]. [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is associated with the colour red. [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is accepted as a name.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is a place, an important one. If you have no family ties to [name_f]Austria[/name_f], have never been there, and don’t know Austrian history - do not use [name_f]Vienna[/name_f].

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f], for me. To me, [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is a mini van, and a burnt red, and I’ve never been able to see the appeal. [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], though, reminds me of a beautiful European city that I’ve read about in novels, of heartbreakingly beautiful violin music, lively beauty. I would love to meet a [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]. It’s on my own list.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]! It’s so beautiful! Plus, I just adore place names! [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is okay, but getting super popular.

I definitely prefer [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]. It’s such a beautiful, warm name. [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is just ok to me.

I think both are pretty! I do slightly prefer [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], though.

When I looked at [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] I think of the city however I still see it as usuable. It is quite pretty.
However I do prefer [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]. It’s feminine pretty yet still down to earth. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

A bit harsh?

I prefer [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]. I like the sound a lot better, and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] feels stronger and more feisty. There’s something about the name that comes across as more interesting and beautiful to me.

I’m not a big fan of city names, and I see [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] in line with other names like [name_u]Paris[/name_u], [name_u]London[/name_u], [name_u]Milan[/name_u]. That said, it does have a nice ring to it. And since city names are rather in fashion now, I don’t think it would be a hard name for a child (or woman) to wear.

I also might change my opinion on that if the city name is a significant place to you, and you WANT to highlight that (say, you honeymooned in [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]!).

For [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] I think of the color, and that gives it an artistic, earthy vibe to me.

As far as the car named [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], I think this is a minor point–there’s also the question of [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] Sausages in terms of name/product associations. But in either case I don’t think they are overly powerful associations.

I like both of these so, so much, but my vote goes to [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]!
(Although, if you like the nickname [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is a good choice.)

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f], even though it’s pretty dated and I know a lot of [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]'s (that seems to be just an Australian thing though) while [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] is far too related to the city.

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f], my daughter was named ‘[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f]’ 5 years ago and I still don’t know another [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], I think it depends where you live but I think it’s very feminine and I always get compliments on how beautiful it sounds

I prefer [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], but this might just be because I dislike place names.

Thanks all! I think both are beautiful names with different associations and loved to read which was preferred and why.

I prefer [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] because it seems to me more unused and mysterious…and I love the ‘v’.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]. [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] makes me think of the mini van and it’s pretty common along with the Odyssey.
