*sigh* starting over

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is not frilly at ALL. I don’t do frilly…In fact I think it is spunky and although not unisex (So still girly) I find it quite tomboyish in a way-which was appealing to me… But it is a funny wee name. I think Mythology and others think old lady (Ha and you think friends) so it does evoke different reactions.
But here were some others on my list before my [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]…
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Mela[/name_f]
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Asha[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Holly[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
I also liked [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] but hubby took it off the list

I love [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] SO SO much. Dh says it’s a tv psychic. eye roll
We both liked [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] for a while but feel it’s a tad dated and cutesy. I do like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] but think it’s too similar sounding to [name_f]Isla[/name_f].
Most of the others are more cute or nicknamey than I like.

I don’t think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is too formal next to [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m], especially if you plan to use the nickname [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]. I think it’s perfect. You both like it, it has the [name_f]Elise[/name_f] sound without the flow problem, and it was your sister’s middle name, who passed away this summer. In my opinion, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is the way to go.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Adah[/name_f]?

Edited for privacy.

I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] quite a bit but the long I is the same as is in [name_f]Isla[/name_f].

[name_f]Natalie[/name_f] - [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] or [name_f]Talia[/name_f]? [name_f]Adelie[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]?
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] - [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], Lisi, [name_f]Lise[/name_f], [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - Not a huge fan of this one… [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]? [name_u]Harper[/name_u] has a similar feel [name_f]IMO[/name_f] (even though they are totally different!). [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]? [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f]?
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] - Hansol, [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f] - [name_u]Bryn[/name_u], [name_f]Brynna[/name_f], [name_f]Brenna[/name_f], [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], [name_f]Bria[/name_f], [name_f]Brie[/name_f].
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - [name_f]Emilie[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], Amelea, Emilea, [name_f]Emme[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Melia[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f].
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - This is not frilly!!! [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is a gorgeous name!

Also, I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is sweet. And there’s no other way to spell it, so idk why your family would roll their eyes! [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is so sweet!
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] keep mentioning it! If you considered it for your first, maybe he’ll come around!
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]? or [name_f]Helen[/name_f]?

Edited for privacy.

Not sure if someone has suggested [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]? It might get you the [name_f]Talie[/name_f] nn without the popularity of [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]?

I could see a Supreme [name_m]Court[/name_m] [name_u]Justice[/name_u] named [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]

With your sibset, I like the suggestions of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Rue[/name_u]), [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (and I love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], but it sounds like that’s off the table). I do like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but I think it’s a little long next to your sibset and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]/[name_f]Liza[/name_f]/[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] are way too close. What about just [name_f]Beth[/name_f]? Some other possibilities:

[name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_m]Grant[/name_m], and

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]

[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_m]Tallis[/name_m]
[name_f]Thais[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is an aunts name, and while she’s lovely it wouldn’t go over well to honor her above other family members.
I have petitioned for [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and failed. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] he finds too cow like. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] I find too cutesy. Prefer [name_f]Eva[/name_f] over [name_f]Eve[/name_f], dh doesn’t like either.

He’d give consent if I told him I was a go for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]…it just seems so regal and has never been a favorite of mine :-/

Sorry for any repeats. [name_m]How[/name_m] about any of these?

If a person named Bushrod [name_m]Washington[/name_m] could become a Supreme [name_m]Court[/name_m] [name_u]Justice[/name_u] (1798-1829) I don’t see why a person named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] couldn’t.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m sorry this is such a difficult task for you, but I’m sure you’ll end up with a wonderful name. I figured I’d try and trow a few Scandiavian names in the mix, since you most likely have heard all the American ones

I don’t know if any of this are your style at all, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to try. [name_m]Just[/name_m] ask me if you wonder about the pronounciation.

Did anyone mention [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]?

[name_m]How[/name_m] about you have him come up with the names and you say “yea or nay” and he’ll see that it isn’t that easy!

Edited for privacy.

What about using [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but calling her by a nickname? My cousin is an [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (yes with the s) and she goes by [name_m]EB[/name_m]. There’s also [name_f]Beth[/name_f] or [name_f]Bess[/name_f]. I think they could work with your other kids names. Or you could do the name [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]. Another option is the Hebrew way of honoring a relative who has passed by using the first initial of their name. We did it. I have Jewish relatives but am not Jewish myself and I felt comfortable using this tradition. That would open up all the E names.

Best wishes!

I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] goes very well with your set and is a superb name. I met a little [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] at play group and she was so adorable!

You mentioned [name_f]Elle[/name_f] too. Such a stylish choice.

What about:
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Emme[/name_f]
[name_f]Corrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
