We’re expecting [name]Baby[/name] Girl v. 2.0 in [name]April[/name] and I can think of no one better qualified to help us name her than the 'berries. Help? Please?
Big sis is [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] (nn [name]Mila[/name]) and we’d like something in a similar vein. Classic. Feminine, but not excessively so. Not totally unheard of, but less common. (I’m already a little bummed that [name]Amelia[/name] is as popular as it is.) Our last name is Danish, so nothing ending in -son or -sen, but a nod to the Scandinavian roots might be fun.
I’m leaning toward [name]Susannah[/name] as a middle name. He’s pushing for [name]Charlotte[/name], and although I think it’s lovely, I’d prefer something less trendy. Other than that, we haven’t had much luck coming up with ideas.
I love [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] both! There are tons of siblings named [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] (a combo I love), so [name]Susannah[/name] is a bit more unexpected.
Hmm, sister to [name]Amelia[/name] ‘[name]Mila[/name]’ [name]Blythe[/name]…
Using the “Super Search” feature, these Scandinavian names seemed most promising:
[name]Annalie[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Elin[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] (could be spelled the Anglicized [name]Ellen[/name] or [name]Helen[/name])
[name]Elsa[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
All the suggestions are Scandinavian, with whichever out of [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] I thought sounded best as the middle (I prefer [name]Susannah[/name] personally but I didn’t want to put it with names that ended in a ‘ah’ sound)
[name]Eeva[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - Could be changed to [name]Eva[/name] to make it more useable, but I don’t see any problems with the double e spelling
[name]Else[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] - I think this is really cute and would work well with [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - This I also think is cute and I think [name]Linny[/name] would be an adorable nn
[name]Maja[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - Possibly a bit close to [name]Amelia[/name], but I thought it was such a lovely name I wanted to suggest it anyway, maybe as a mn?
[name]Petra[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - I really like [name]Petra[/name], I think it sounds really refined and beautiful but would work wonderfully on a little girl as well, I also think it works well with [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Signe[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] - Maybe not as useable as the others, but still beautiful, another for the mns
[name]Teodora[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - I love this! I think it is so so lovely! I think it is fresher than the [name]Theodora[/name] spelling, and has a ton of nn’s: [name]Teo[/name], [name]Tea[/name], [name]Dora[/name], [name]Dory[/name]
[name]Tove[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - [name]Tove[/name] is a personal favourite of mine, and it is scandinavian, so I had to include it, I think it is just beautiful and I do think it would work well with [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Viveca[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - I thought this was really unusual and I thought it would be an interesting choice, I thought it would be a good pairing with [name]Amelia[/name], with the connection of the same ending letter and [name]Viveca[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] have the same amount of syllables, which I think helps make a sib-set flow.
Lots of great ideas, guys, thanks! Keep 'em coming! I get the feeling that I’m going to need the next four months to convince the hubs to choose something I love, so the longer the list is the better.
[name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Kate[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Edith[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Verity[/name], [name]Anais[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Bella[/name], [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Sofia[/name], [name]Valentina[/name]. I have a [name]Charlotte[/name] and I love her name. It’s a good choice! It goes great with [name]Amelia[/name]. [name]Georgia[/name] would also be a great choice.
Oh, how I love [name]Susannah[/name]. It’s my daughters name.
Here are some ideas I have for you-
[name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Elizabeth[/name] - [name]Elizabeth[/name] is THE classic name. With so many nickname options, you really can’t go wrong. [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] is a bit too long, if you ask me.
[name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Audrey[/name] - I think the two A’s make these names really work together. [name]Audrey[/name] is very elegant and refined. Although [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] doesn’t go well, here are some other middle name ideas.
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] - Your husband might like this
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Caroline[/name] - [name]Caroline[/name] is such a ballerina name to me. It’s so pretty. [name]Love[/name] it!
[name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Eleanor[/name] - You get nicknames like [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Nora[/name]… [name]Eleanor[/name] is definitely timeless.
