Sister for Clara Munro

Hello, hoping to get some input on our naming dilemma! We are days away from delivery and struggling!

Hubby likes [name]Fiona[/name] as a first name, as he has Scottish heritage and we spent some time living in the UK. I feel [name]Fiona[/name] is a little froofy compared to [name]Clara[/name].

We both like [name]Nora[/name], but I’m concerned it may sound too similar to [name]Clara[/name], with the “ra” at the end of both. What do you think?

We love [name]Maggie[/name] as a nickname, but aren’t fans of any of the big names that lead to it ([name]Margaret[/name], [name]Marguerite[/name], [name]Margot[/name], [name]Magdalena[/name], etc), and don’t want to give a nickname as a given name.

Others we are considering are [name]Amelia[/name] (worried about popularity), [name]Eloise[/name] (lots of Louises in my family, and grandfather was [name]Alois[/name]).

Hubby also likes [name]Penelope[/name], but this feels pretty heavy to me.

I love [name]Lisette[/name], variations of [name]Katharine[/name] (with [name]Kit[/name] as a nickname), and [name]Rosalind[/name] (with [name]Lindy[/name] as nickname), but these are hubby vetoes.

FYI, [name]Munro[/name] was both a family name and way of capturing our time climbing mountains in [name]Scotland[/name] (the big ones are called [name]Munro[/name]'s). We’re looking at some alternatives from our travels as middlenames, as well as [name]Rose[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Louise[/name], [name]Mae[/name], [name]Frances[/name] (family name).

Would love your thoughts!

What about [name]Nola[/name] for a first name. similar to [name]Clara[/name] but not as close as [name]Nora[/name]. We considered it but since there’s a strong likelihood we will move to New Orleans (the locals call it [name]NOLA[/name]) we decided not to use it but thinks it’s beautiful and different. just a thought…

[name]Magnolia[/name] was on my list nn [name]Maggie[/name]. [name]Fiona[/name] is OK, but I like Finely better. [name]Nora[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], and [name]Amelia[/name] are all fine choices with [name]Clara[/name].
