[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out that baby number 2 is a girl! we hadn’t decided on any boy or girl names yet as we thought we would wait until we knew the sex, and the day has finally come.
The main problem that [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 will be little sister too [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. We want [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 to have a name that is as special as [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f]. Obviously she won’t be called [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f], so we are looking for a pretty name that matches nicely with [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f].
I would steer clear from [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] for sure, because that would basically be like naming two daughters after one person. I’m not sure if your other options are from GOT or not (didn’t read the books and only watched 2 seasons of the show), but I like [name_f]Quintessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Khalida[/name_f] best from your list. Does [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] go by a nickname at all? If so, I think [name_f]Quintessa[/name_f] lends itself to the best nn’s - [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]. If not, I like [name_f]Khalida[/name_f] in it’s long form best.
Other suggestions:
Ravenna
Allegra
Hadassah
Zenobia
Xanthippe
Venezia
Calantha
Pandora - my favorite!
I’d avoid [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] like the plague, like meyera4 said it’s like naming two children after one person. I like [name_f]Khalida[/name_f] the best. Other suggestions include [name_f]Cataleya[/name_f] and [name_f]Mahala[/name_f]/[name_f]Mahalia[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Khalida[/name_f]. I’d definitely stay away from [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] since you already have a [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f]. I agree with what nameberry says about [name_f]Quintessa[/name_f] (Sounds like a fictional rank of royalty) and [name_f]Questa[/name_f] (Sounds too much like the name of a minivan).
Here’s some random suggestions that you may like:
[name_f]Amity[/name_f]
[name_f]Ambrosia[/name_f]
[name_f]Appolonia[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Kelilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
Phaedra
[name_f]Pandora[/name_f]
[name_f]Quintana[/name_f]
[name_f]Raphaela[/name_f]
[name_u]Ripley[/name_u]
[name_f]Verona[/name_f]
[name_f]Veda[/name_f]
[name_f]Xenia[/name_f]
Xanthippe
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Zella[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Quintessa[/name_f] - to me it sounds too much like Contessa, it also means fifth and she will be second…
[name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] - I agree with other posters that I would avoid this name due to being seen as a GOT family
[name_f]Questa[/name_f] - It seems a bit shorter than [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f], but I like it
[name_f]Khalida[/name_f] - not for me.
My suggestions:
[name_f]Calista[/name_f]
Chryseis
Dionysa
[name_f]Nautica[/name_f]
I just thought of a name I’ve loved for a long time. She’s a character in a book written by Lloyd Alexander:Eilonwy. It has the same sort of feel as Danaerys, is unique, is a great character and sounds pretty.
Everyone should read these booksto their children: The Chronicles of Prydain. They’re very entertaining for children, but contain wonderful messages as well.
If you want the GoT reference go with something a little less obvious like Ygritte, [name_f]Oona[/name_f], [name_f]Talisa[/name_f], Ellaria, Osha, Olenna, [name_f]Yara[/name_f]…
I would second the Eilonwy option! A character name I have always loved is Elliryanna from T.A. [name_m]Barron[/name_m]'s [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] series.
Other name possibilities include:
[name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Nephele[/name_f]
[name_f]Alastrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]
Imzadi (is from [name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek, term of endearment that means beloved)
Aetheria (feminine form of latin aetherius - ether, heavens, heavenly)
