[name_m]Just[/name_m] had my little [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and can’t wait to start working on baby number 2. Any suggestions for a sister for [name_m]Desmond[/name_m]?
The middle name would be [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to honor my mother. Her maiden last name is [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u], so a slight nod. [name_u]James[/name_u] is my [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s maiden last name, so both will have that connection.
A name we both like is [name_f]Elena[/name_f], but our last name starts with an A so not sure if that sounds okay.

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] A… Sounds OK. You should not worry about A starting surname. Rules are for breaking and half of girls names end in - a sound.
First of all, I LOVE the name Desmond! It was my top choice for if we’d had a boy. I hope to be able to use it in the future. Congratulations on your very handsomely named little one.
From your signature, I absolutely love Eleanor. Desmond and Eleanor sound perfect together, and I love Eleanor Claire. I also really like Elena, and think it sounds just fine with a last name beginning with an A.
Really, I think any of the girls’ names in your signature are fantastic with Desmond, though Desmond and Penelope reminds me of the television show “Lost” (they were a couple on the show, though it’s an older reference now, and probably not a big deal at all).

I don’t think [name_f]Elena[/name_f] sounds bad with an A starting surname. I know a few people with A-ending names and A-starting surnames and it’s fine. You don’t even notice.
