I am due in 6 weeks with our second girl and we are struggling with names! Our daughter is [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Amata[/name]. Her last name is Irish, starting with M. My maiden name is Italian. This baby will most likely have my maiden name as her middle name. We like names that are not too popular and not unisex. I love the vowel sounds in [name]Fiona[/name]'s name. This time around has been even harder! I have even had comments from people saying “[name]How[/name] are you going to top or match [name]Fiona[/name]'s name?” We can’t agree on many names. Two names that are possibilities are [name]Mara[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

[name]Rosaleen[/name] was a top pick for a while as we tried to match the Irish/Scottish flair of [name]Fiona[/name]. ([name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Rosalyn[/name], [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name] would also work I think)
I also think [name]Gwendolen[/name]/[name]Gwendolyn[/name] is a beautiful match with [name]Fiona[/name]! We also liked [name]Cordelia[/name] w/ [name]Fiona[/name]. The nn [name]Cora[/name] reminds me of some of the names you are considering.
Obviously, I think [name]Alice[/name] works quite well with [name]Fiona[/name].
[name]Mara[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] are both nice. I prefer [name]Mara[/name]. If you wanted something a little longer (or to keep the Ma sound), you could try [name]Marabel[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Maeve[/name] (a natural fit w/ [name]Fiona[/name]), [name]Maude[/name], [name]Marina[/name], [name]Marla[/name].
