Hi all, I’m currently pregnant with baby girl #2 and would love your help coming up with a name. My first daughter is Maeve Josephine named after my grandmother Mary. While I realize Maeve is an Irish/Gaelic name I am not particularly looking for another very Irish name, but more for a name that pairs well and of a similar style. I love the name Maeve because it is feminine, yet strong, and not overly common.
We haven’t fully decided on the middle name yet but one we are considering is Hope, if that helps in the process. Thank your for your help!
Loving all these suggestions so far! So far the ones that stand out are:
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
I should also say that if we were having a boy the name would have been [name_u]Henry[/name_u], if that helps get a sense of our style. Thank you!
Greer and Sloane are forever my favorites with Maeve. Such a gorgeous group of spirited, sweet, snappy girls.
Also, the above suggestions of Scarlett and Louisa are the darn sweetest. I adore those two, and they are brilliant with Maeve!
A few more ideas as well…
June
Piper
Claire
Kate or Kit
Lucy
Phoebe
Viola
Meg
Hattie
Opal
Scout
Lila
Saoirse (very Irish of course, and very stunning!)
Pippa
Primrose
Rose
Freya
Daphne
Lydia
Felicity
I’d also suggest [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Colette[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], & [name_u]Simone[/name_u], if you go for another middle name than [name_f]Hope[/name_f].
I saw that you liked [name_u]Wren[/name_u], and immediately thought of [name_u]Robin[/name_u] or [name_f]Robyn[/name_f]. It’s so cute and I don’t see it much anymore.
You liked [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Hope[/name_f], and I think [name_u]Dove[/name_u] fits in well there, especially since Doves are sympolic of hope. It’s a name that’s rising in popularity right now, and I’ve always been a fan.
Similary to [name_u]Dove[/name_u], I think the name [name_u]Angel[/name_u] fits in with the names [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Hope[/name_f] which you said you liked. I’ve actually met quite a few Angels in my area.
I just realised that both of those are also birds, so I’ll recommend something different. You liked [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is another name which has the same confidence and spark to it.
The name [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] might seem a bit random, but I think it sounds great with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
If you wanted another name to honour [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] are sweet and go well with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], although I’m not sure if you’d like both names to begin with the same letter.
[name_f]Lois[/name_f] came to mind when you said you liked [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]- I think it fits well with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Selene[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
