Expecting baby #2 on [name_u]November[/name_u] 1st and its a girl.
I already have a 23 month old boy named [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m].
We are having a hard time trying to decide on a girls name! I found this forum useful when trying to name our son so I thought I would come back in search of a girls name
We want to honor my grandmother with the middle name (either [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f])
[name_f]My[/name_f] husbands current fave is [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] current fave is [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
I sometimes think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] is too masculine?? What do you guys think?
Does anyone have suggestions of girl names that would go with [name_u]Reid[/name_u]?
[name_f]My[/name_f] very first thought when I read the title of this post was [name_u]Arden[/name_u]! I think itās lovely with [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. I personally prefer the alliterative sound of [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] to [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], but both are nice choices.
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is cute. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t think its masculine at all.
Others that come to mind:
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Riley[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
As you can see, I prefer the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for a middle name. =)
Although I prefer the name [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] to [name_u]Arden[/name_u], I do think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] is a better āmatchā with [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. When it comes to mnās and the choice of alliteration ([name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]) or repetitive hard dās ([name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]), I think I would choose the former rather than the latter option.
Out of you and your husbandās favorites, I prefer [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. [name_u]Arden[/name_u] I hear as a very unisex name (of course, according to Nameberry, so is [name_u]Reid[/name_u]!), and it sounds good with [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. Some other suggestionsā¦
I go back and forth with [name_u]Arden[/name_u]āi like it for all the reasons you do, but sometimes it sounds a bit too hard to me (not to mention, add an h and it becomes āhardenā). I do think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is cuter than [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. Was about to suggest [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_u]Arden[/name_u], but realized that loses the family name.
Ultimately, I love [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] more and think it sounds great with [name_u]Reid[/name_u].
I really like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (prefer [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] a little more). Not really a fan of [name_u]Arden[/name_u], boy or girl.
I do feel [name_u]Reid[/name_u] is pretty masculine. Of the two, I vastly prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] to [name_u]Arden[/name_u] - I feel [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is a lot more graceful and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] clunkier (and yes, I think somewhat masculine. The only [name_u]Arden[/name_u] Iāve ever met was a man). So my pick of your two is [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
I have a friend who named her little girl [name_u]Arden[/name_u]. Itās a nice name. Her name is [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] goes good with [name_u]Reid[/name_u].
I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] goes better with [name_u]Reid[/name_u] than [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] does. That being said, i think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] sounds more melodic than [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
And to me, [name_u]Arden[/name_u] is a feminine name. Not masculine at all.
So [name_u]Reid[/name_u]'s sistwr has arrived ! Down to either cecily or violet. Canāt decide what is your vote between
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
Or
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
We canāt do violet [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as the initials would be VAG
I was going to suggest [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] but no, that would be bad.
I still like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u] together, so [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would be my top choice. This is also a compromise between the two names.
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would be next, followed by [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
Between [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f], I really like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] with [name_u]Reid[/name_u], as [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u] are both nature names.
I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] better with [name_u]Reid[/name_u] but then again Iāve never been a huge fan of [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. Congrats on your new addition!
