Sister for Reuben

Which one fits big brother [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] (Roo) the best?

[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] (Sass)
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] ([name_f]Mae[/name_f])
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ([name_f]Daisy[/name_f])
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmie[/name_f])
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] ([name_f]Mae[/name_f])

And why? Any suggestions? Not giving him a sibling for a long while yet but I’m pondering!

Thank you. :white_heart:

Maeve would make a wonderful addition

First thing that came to mind was [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] “[name_f]Stella[/name_f]”

Another vote for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] ! I love the nick name [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and all [name_f]Mae[/name_f] names ([name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f],[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] etc) I also really like that The B sound is in [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] so it kind of ties [name_m]Rueben[/name_m] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] together that’s not too cutesy to sing songy.

All of the names are beautiful! So you can’t go wrong but if I were naming a sibling to [name_m]Rueben[/name_m] this would be my thought process
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] - gorgeous name but maybe a little more exotic than Roo
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and all spellings of it but it might just be a little popular for my taste
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - Roo and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] are cute siblings !!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my rankings & thoughts-

  1. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]-[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is so sweet. It’s simple, vintage, a little quirky & not terribly common. That goes really well w/Reuben. And I think that [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mae[/name_f] makes perfect sense.

  2. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]-[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is beautiful. I think that it’s smart & sophisticated, but I can also very easily picture it on a little girly picking flowers in a meadow. And as for the nn…I’m completely head over heals in love w/the name [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I don’t think that it’s a super natural nn for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], & maybe that’s why I didn’t rank this #1. Then again, I like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] & [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], & I guess that’s also a stretch. Either way, great choice!

  3. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]-I see [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] similarly as I see [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. Sleek & sophisticated, but also [name_m]Little[/name_m] House on the [name_u]Prairie[/name_u]-ish. I just don’t think that [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mae[/name_f] makes a ton of sense either. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] doesn’t really need a nn. But I suppose Maevey would be the most natural.

  4. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]-[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is beautiful. Smart, classic & kind. I just don’t care for [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] though. It’s kind of just too cutesy for some reason. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f] would be darling. I’d also be concerned that this would be mistaken for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] a lot.

  5. [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]-I don’t hate [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] in its own, but it’s just not my personal favorite. It sounds a little harsh. And [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] has more of an ‘ah’ sound & Sass seems like it should be a short ‘a’. So, it seems a bit awkward.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though you have a great list, here are a few suggestions-

[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]/Vivie

[name_f]Annika[/name_f]/Annie

[name_f]Anika[/name_f]/Ani

Reuben and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (Roo and [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]) sound gorgeous together! I also visually like [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] for the double vowels as a nice link between brother and sister.

Never thought I would vote for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] but she is honestly so sweet with [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]! I love the b that ties them together. Roo and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] are super cute too.

Adelaide might be a bit more classy for an older woman, and I love the nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

I’m in the minority here but I really like to see [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] together! In my mind, I always saw [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] as a modern sounding name, so for that reason [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] don’t feel that they are the perfect matches for me because both names are very traditional and old-fashioned. Honestly, I never cared about [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] but I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] :blossom: [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] are [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] are meant to be!
I also agree that [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] sound great next to the sweet and adorable names [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] suggestions is [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f]/Tris!

Saskia is my favourite! I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] too, but I don’t think it fits as a nickname for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]? [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] would be my second pick, I think!

I adore [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]! Roo and Sass would be adorable together.

Coincidentally, I have a BIL [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] and a cousin-in-law [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]! Both great names.

I also really love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] “[name_f]Mae[/name_f]” with your son’s wonderful name

@MichelleM so well thought out, thank you so much. I like the idea of [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] with [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]!
@leafsgirl44 I have always had [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], I can’t remember how I got there but I have loved it ever since! :yum: Thank you!
@katinka thank you :heart:

I also love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] with [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. They sound great together and the nicknames are so cute. It would be my first choice for you, but I also like [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] is such a handsome name!
