Sister for Riley

Hello we need help with name ideas for our second baby girl! Our two year old daughter is [name_u]Riley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Trying to find a good name that goes with [name_u]Riley[/name_u].
Current favorites are [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_u]Reagan[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_f]Reese[/name_f], [name_f]Quinn[/name_f].
We also have the family name [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] but I’m not sure how it would be having a [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and a [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] lol. Any advice ideas would be great!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts on your list:

[name_f]Cora[/name_f]-This is lovely. It’s not super in line w/[name_u]Riley[/name_u], but it doesn’t clash. [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is more unisex & modern whereas [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is more feminine & old fashioned. It’s a great name though, & they’re both short & sweet together.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f]-Pretty much same as above, expect that [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is quite a bit more popular.

[name_f]Elora[/name_f]-Beautiful! A little more exotic than the others, but I like it. It’s unexpected but still simple enough for people to say & spell properly.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f]-This is fine. It doesn’t sparkle as much as the others, but its a nice name.

[name_u]Reagan[/name_u]-Meh. This seems in line w/[name_u]Riley[/name_u], but it just sounds like [name_m]Ronald[/name_m] [name_u]Reagan[/name_u].

[name_f]Emily[/name_f]-Very sweet name. Awfully common, of course, but a nice classic that has a kind sing songy feeling and grows up well.

[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]-This is cute. A little over done, but not terrible & seems to fit w/[name_u]Riley[/name_u].

[name_u]Reese[/name_u]-This is not my personal favorite. I think that two ‘R’ names may be a little cutesy anyway.

[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]-This is not my personal favorite either, but I do think that it’s a perfect fit w/[name_u]Riley[/name_u]. I’m just not a huge fan of unisex names, but [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] isn’t bad at all.

As for [name_f]Shirley[/name_f], I think that it’d be fine as a mn for any of these. It . doesn’t flow perfectly w/some, but it’s not a huge problem if that name is special to you.

A few other ideas:

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are my favorite from your list

[name_u]Riley[/name_u] & ______:

[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] “[name_u]Penny[/name_u]”
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]”
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] “[name_f]Della[/name_f]” “[name_u]Laney[/name_u]”
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]/[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] “[name_u]Rory[/name_u]”
[name_u]Remington[/name_u] “[name_u]Remi[/name_u]”
[name_u]Linden[/name_u] “[name_f]Indy[/name_f]”

I like [name_f]Zoey[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] from your list [name_f]Tess[/name_f] has already been suggested but it came to mind for me too. Other possibilities…

[name_f]Charlize[/name_f] / [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]

I think [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] would fit really well.

[name_u]Riley[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Shirley[/name_f]

From your list I really like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Elora[/name_f]!
Other suggestions:

My favorite of your options is [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. I also like [name_u]Reagan[/name_u] & [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. Other ideas:

My favorite from your options is [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and…

[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u], [name_f]Aubrie[/name_f]
[name_u]Britton[/name_u], [name_f]Brittan[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Marin[/name_f], Mairin

I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f], with [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] as the mn

[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] makes a great sister to [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

My suggestions, trying not to repeat, would be

[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are the best with [name_u]Riley[/name_u] [name_f]IMO[/name_f]

[name_f]Shirley[/name_f] is a good mn for both too

Thank you all for your input! [name_u]Baby[/name_u] doesn’t come until mid [name_f]May[/name_f] so we have some time to think it over.

Also to everyone who suggested [name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] that is ironically My best friends daughter’s name (who is about the same age as my daughter [name_u]Riley[/name_u])
It’s a good name lol!

Since [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is gender neutral, I would go with the same, as having a frilly girls name like [name_f]Cora[/name_f], one would think [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is a boy, and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] doesn’t seem to go with the other girl names as [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is recently popular in the last 12 years, while the other are old. Exceptions to this would be: [name_u]Reagan[/name_u], [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], which sound much better and equal to [name_u]Riley[/name_u].
names you might consider are: [name_u]Sutton[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_u]Everest[/name_u], and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m].
