Our favorite girl name has always been [name_u]Skyler[/name_u]. But we had a boy first, and we named him [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u].
Now we’re expecting a girl and we’re stuck. [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] are way too similar right? Should we go with something else or stick to the name we love?
Open to suggestions! Here are some other names we both like:
I do think they’re way too close, sorry! But I love [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] from your list, and I think they’re so sweet with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]!
I think they are too similar however [name_u]Skye[/name_u] works. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is that you could be trapped into a theme of using ‘s’ names when it comes to potential future children.
From your list I love [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] & [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] however they do feel very stylistically different from [name_u]Skyler[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Piper[/name_u] & [name_u]River[/name_u] (both very sweet choice) is the closet to [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] as they are both unisex sharing that ‘er’ ending.
You’ve had lots of lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
While I think [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] are a little close for my personal use , I can certainly appreciate if someone had 2 kids with these names .
I think there’s also some lovely names that are close to [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] but don’t share the same S and er sounds

I think [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] would be fine. If that is the name you have your heart set on, then I would use it. Of course you could go with [name_u]Skye[/name_u] or I’ve heard of a little girl named [name_f]Skylie[/name_f]. As for your other names, I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]. I do think that [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] are too close for siblings. But I really like the idea of [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] & [name_u]Skye[/name_u]. [name_u]Skye[/name_u] is so clean and sleek and has beautiful open air blue imagery. I can also see it with a bit of a cowgirl vibe, which really fits well with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u].
Here are my thoughts on the rest of your list:
Ivy-This is cute. I like this name in theory more than actually saying it for some reason. I like that it’s nature-y and spunky & feminine without being too frilly. I just don’t love the way it sounds myself, but it’s not a bad name at all & it goes well with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u].
River-I really love [name_u]River[/name_u] for a boy & find it pretty masculine. I don’t think that I’d hate it if I met a brother/sister combo named [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] & [name_u]River[/name_u] though. It’s kind of fun!
Willow-This is a similar vibe to [name_u]River[/name_u] but in a girl form. I like it for you. Cool tree imagery too.
Scarlett-I don’t know. If anything, I really want this to be [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f], since that’s how the word is spelled. But either way I think that it just sounds kind of harsh. [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] & [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are tounge-twister-y together as well.
Piper-Ah, I just do not like this name. It looks and sounds unpleasant to me.
Sadie-Super cute and lovable. I like it for you and in general.
Out of your current picks I think [name_u]Ivy[/name_u], [name_u]Willow[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] would be excellent paired with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]. Other ideas:

From the rest of your list I’d choose [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Piper[/name_u], or [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]. Other ideas- drawing in Skyler’s sounds and vibe as much as possible, taking inspiration from your other options, and throwing in a few wildcards…
