Firstly, I need a sisters name for [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. Both of these names include a ‘V’ in them somewhere, and I’d like to keep up that trend. Elegant, graceful, yet somehow modern, and sleek.
[name_f][/name_f]
Secondarily, I worry about the name [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] as much as I love it. I’ve never heard anyone mention it, but my autocorrect often corrects it to ‘virgin’ rather than ‘Virgil’ when I accidentally miss the last letter. [name_m]Will[/name_m] that be a problem for him? [name_m]Will[/name_m] people draw that association?
I think [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] is in the category of vintage names that aren’t quite ready for a revival. But here’s some suggestions for other siblings names to go with [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]:
I’ll be honest that I didn’t love [name_m]Virgil[/name_m]. I also don’t love [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], for the same reason–it just reminds me of “virgin”. That said, it’s not a BAD name. It’s a name that’s worthy of respect, and I wouldn’t think less of anyone who used it. But the reason you pointed out is the reason I wouldn’t use it myself.
Personally I’m not keen on [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] or [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] as I strongly associate the name with the word ‘virgin’ which I just think is a concept that is socially heavy. I find [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] more wearable due to association with the place whereas [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] does feel like a vintage choice which isn’t quite ready for revival as @atomicginge[name_f][/name_f] so perfectly put.
Personally I really like Virgil nn Virgie or Gil! I think it’s really cool! Plus it seems like you already have a kid named Virgil? So why would you change it, if you really love it? But do whatever you’d like!!
I have similar concerns about [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] though I see its appeal. I was going to suggest [name_m]Vernon[/name_m] as an alternative, but the more I think about it, it’s not that much different from virgin/Virgil. I do love the name [name_m]Vince[/name_m] and wonder if that appeals to you as an alternative?

[name_m]River[/name_m], [name_m]Everett[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_f]Avery[/name_f] are a few others with the “v” sound.
