I am due in one month with my second daughter. My husband and I can’t decide on a name that goes with our daughter Willa. We would like to keep it to a vintage name if possible. Our ideas so far: Nora, Penny, Wren, Hattie, Hallie and Margot. What are your favourites? Or do you have any other ideas?
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is one of my all time favorites so a vote for it. But my ultimate vote would be for [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u], swoon!
Great list! I really like [name_f]Hallie[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is my absolute favourite name. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are also on my shortlist. All your names are lovely but [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] fits so well with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] imo. Short, nicknamey names (that are established as standalone) which feel sort of tomboyish whilst still feminine and vintage. Here are my thoughts on the other names you mentioned:
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]: I like this one. It has always reminded me of snorer but I don’t mind it nonetheless.
[name_u]Penny[/name_u]: nice but feels like it has to be short for something longer (Penelope?), [name_f]Willa[/name_f] has a nickname feel but is also established as a standalone name. I’m saying this I do know several just Penny’s so I think you can totally get away with [name_u]Penny[/name_u] as a standalone name it’s just that I would assume it’s short for something.
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]: I don’t like this, feels trendy and I just don’t like the sound. It does fit very well with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] though. Are you planning on having more children? If so would you repeat the ‘W’ initial again? On nameberry it’s often said that if you stick to a theme for two kids you can break it in the third but if you have three or more you can’t break it in the next. Not a deal breaker, just something to keep in mind.
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]: this is even more of a nickname than [name_u]Penny[/name_u]. I would definitely assume it’s sort for [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. I would either use [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] (which goes excellent with Willa) or just opt for [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]. [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is also a nn of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] btw.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]: love this name, fits very well with [name_f]Willa[/name_f], is becoming more common though.
Overall I would choose [name_f]Hallie[/name_f], such a beautiful name which matches perfectly with [name_f]Willa[/name_f].
I love the name [name_f]Willa[/name_f]!
I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] go quite nicely! [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] are my favorites of your ideas, though I prefer the spelling [name_u]Halle[/name_u].
Of your list I like [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] with [name_f]Willa[/name_f].

Penny is one of my all time favourite names and I think it works well with Willa, having a double letter in the middle. My second choice would be Margot, which I love but is super trendy right now. I personally find Willa and Hallie a bit too similar and a bit of a mouthful, but that’s probably just me ![]()
I love Willa and Eudora or Willa and Flannery for the literary associations.
Willa and Nora are nice together.
Willa is to me a very strong though short name and it seems to blow out of the water names like Penny or Hallie with its sheer gravitas.
I like Willa and Freda or Willa and Freya.
Willa and Sarah.
Willa and Theda.
I like [name_u]Penny[/name_u] or [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] with [name_f]Willa[/name_f]!
Margot is gorgeous with Willa! Hattie and Wren are lovely too. I’d also suggest Clementine, Ada, Olive, Clara, Thea, Maeve, Flora, Astrid, Freya, Primrose, Saskia, Frankie, Amelie, June, Matilda, Pearl & Iris.
I really like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f] ![]()
Congratulations ![]()
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] is a strong feminine girl name with a pretty vintage flair I think from your list [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] all work wonderfully with [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. I think my favourite is [name_f]Nora[/name_f] for [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] feels stylistically similar to [name_f]Willa[/name_f] she’s a strong feminine choice with a vintage flair. I would almost be tempted to spell her like [name_f]Norah[/name_f] just so she has the same matching letters as [name_f]Willa[/name_f] it would be a nice way to tie the siblings together. Also I like the [name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m] association. Normally I’d go with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] but would prefer [name_f]Norah[/name_f] for you guys!
Some other ideas could be [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f].
Good luck
