So last week I made a post on boy names “a brother for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], and Indigo” and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] was on top of the list; well there’s been new developments and now we think the baby is a girl so just to be on the safe side we’re making a girl’s name list.
We truly weren’t expecting a girl lol so these are the roadblocks with these names so far:
[name_f]Rafaela[/name_f]: we really like this name but we also like [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and if we end up with a boy in the future having both a [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and a [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] it’s a bit much.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]: this one is also a favorite but we think of it as more of a middle name.
[name_u]Ireland[/name_u]: the roadblock here is what nn could this name have. We already call [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_u]Indi[/name_u].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] as info the baby has sisters [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Batista[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]
I feel like the name [name_f]Freya[/name_f] or [name_f]Frida[/name_f] would go well with the sibling’s names. I like [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] most, but if you think that you won’t have another kid, then I would go with [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f], and I agree with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] as a middle name only.
[name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] – [name_u]Love[/name_u] this with your other children! I agree that [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] aren’t usable together, though.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] – Great middle name!
[name_u]Ireland[/name_u] – Is [name_u]Irie[/name_u] too close to [name_u]Indi[/name_u] for you? Maybe [name_f]Lani[/name_f] or [name_f]Annie[/name_f]?
I love [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] (I would myself use the [name_f]Rafaella[/name_f] version). [name_f]My[/name_f] sense is that if this is your fave, use it and trust that you’ll find another name for a future son - too many unknowns to be saving names? I love it!
[name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] - bright, charming and distinct - however, I think it’s about deciding whether you love this enough to let go of [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] forever.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - sweet, charming and fits well as a balance between [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Olympia[/name_f].
[name_u]Ireland[/name_u] - a little different in style, not my favourite but it’s okay. Some nicknames could be [name_u]Landry[/name_u], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], Islee, [name_u]Ira[/name_u], [name_u]Lannie[/name_u]
These three are all gorgeous options! I’m especially a fan of [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] And I don’t think it should have to take a future [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] off the table, but I understand your hesitation.
Some other suggestions:
[name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] (nn Effie) - similar vibe to [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f], same “f” sound in the middle, but more different from [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m].
[name_u]Scotland[/name_u] (nn Scottie) - alternative to [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] that differentiates more from [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]. I know a little girl with this name/nickname combo and it’s very cute on her.
I do love [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f] with your sibs but if you’re considering more kids I’d save [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] this time and find something else for a girl.
[name_u]Ireland[/name_u] feels such a different vibe to your other girls, and with the same initial as [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], I probably wouldn’t go there. It would make a cool middle though! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Ireland[/name_u]?
It made me smile to see [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] on your list she’s truly gorgeous! But yes I think having [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] + [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] would be too similar for one sibling set. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is beautiful such a pretty elegant name with the adorable nickname [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] but maybe feels too ‘popular’ I’m not s I think she just doesn’t have the impactful feel of the other names. [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] is gorgeous I think [name_u]Irie[/name_u] could be a fun nickname. However maybe too similar to [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] in feeling it’s tricky. I immediately thought [name_u]Scotland[/name_u] could be a cool alternative with the nickname [name_u]Scottie[/name_u]? Has similar feels to [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] but very different.
You’ve had lots of lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is definitely [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. I really like the sound of the names all beginning with vowels sounds and being three or four syllables.
Alex@ndra, Olympi@, Indig0 and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] sound like sisters to me.

And I don’t think it should have to take a future [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] off the table, but I understand your hesitation.
