Hi! I had a daughter last year and we named her Alina Nawali.
I’m having another girl and we really like the name Ayleen. I’m having doubts because it seems pretty close to Alina and I don’t want others to call her Alina. Any other name suggestions. I also like Aria. We like feminine type names, middle name is up in the air as well.
I should have probably added. That my daughter Alina has passed away. So we won’t be saying her name as often as if she were living. I just don’t want others to mistake it and call our daughter Alina when they meant to say Ayleen.

They are very similar in sound… Ayleen could basically almost be a lazy/shortened form of Alina…
Is it the -leen sound that you love? Like-

Or -lee? Like-

Hailey
Everly
Leah (prob also too close)
Leanne
Or the beginning A sound-
Aubrey
Ava
Ayla * this one seems like a great option
Aria is also very pretty !
Good luck!

[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] to Nameberry!
Yes, I think they are too close unless you truly can’t find another name you love. [name_u]Aria[/name_u] works but in saying [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and [name_u]Aria[/name_u] together they are a bit tongue-twisty too. Suggesting….

You can always use [name_f]Ayleen[/name_f] as the middle name since the middle name isn’t said all the time and just use a different name like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] for example as the first name
I am so sorry for your loss.

I see your edit now & that changes my previous post entirely! [name_f]Ayleen[/name_f] is lovely & is a great honorary nod to big sis.
I’m sorry for your loss
