We’re looking for a girl’s name that will go with our older daughter’s name, Rose. These are some of the names we like:
Daphne
Emily
Brooke
Felicity
Audrey
Sophie
Holly
Whitney
Chloe
Claire
Francesca
Emma
We’d like the name to be feminine and classic, and go well with “Rose”. Some other names that I like, that my husband vetoed, are Faye, Brooke, Constance, and Maura.
My husband really likes Daphne, but I’m struggling to come up with a middle name to go with it. I was think Grace…
Do you like any of these names, or can you suggest new ones? Thank you!
I really like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] Any suggestions for middle names with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]?
[name_f][/name_f]
We could use a grandmother’s name… [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is nice! And [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] works [name_f][/name_f]- it feels like classic and feminine, like [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]
Of your other options, I like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], and [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]!
I really like [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but I’m wondering if it’s too popular… [name_f][/name_f] Does that matter?
[name_f][/name_f]
Also, what would be a good middle name for [name_f]Emily[/name_f]? [name_f][/name_f] I was thinking maybe [name_f]Emily[/name_f] Elisabeth… [name_f]My[/name_f] mom’s name is [name_f]Lisa[/name_f], and I thought that would be a good way to honor her without actually using “Lisa”, which I feel is a little dated.
I think [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] is a beautiful name, but something to be aware of is that [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is the little girl character from the [name_m]Clifford[/name_m] the Big [name_m]Red[/name_m] Dog books. (It’s a positive association for me and my little girls, but definitely a strong one for us, as we read those books often.) Other options to honour your mom might be [name_f]Alisa[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], Lisanna, etc.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Or[/name_m] another name I love with some similar sounds to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is [name_f]Esme[/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]
I love a lot of your original list and the other suggestions above, but here are a few other classic feminine names like [name_f]Rose[/name_f]:
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Camille[/name_f] or [name_f]Camila[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Irina[/name_f] or [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are beautiful matches for [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f][name_f]My[/name_f] top 3 is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] would be my ultimate choice. It’s happy, elegant, hopeful and sweet. I adore [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be beautiful as well. [name_f][/name_f]As a full name for [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], using your list, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Brooke[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] may please both you and your husband.
I like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]
I think [name_f]Brooke[/name_f], [name_m]Whitney[/name_m], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] seem a bit too “modern” or less traditional when paired with [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
For [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], how is [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]?
You have a beautiful list so many gorgeous choices. I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and agree that [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be pretty. I also love with big sister R0se these ones [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] & [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. To narrow the list done further I think [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] & [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] would be stunning.
[name_f][/name_f]
Middle names for [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] & Francesca…
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] is my favourite pairing. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a wonderful way to honour your mum. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is another idea. I don’t think the popularity matters itself, especially with classic names that always feel stylish.
[name_f][/name_f]
When popularity starts to affect how much you enjoy the name, I find the name naturally falls lower on your list. So if you’re still seriously considering [name_f]Emily[/name_f], I don’t think it will trouble you in the long term.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] sounds lovely but you don’t seem sure about it. [name_f]May[/name_f] I suggest:
What a beautiful list, and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is just stunning. From your list, my favorites for Rose’s sister would be [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], & [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Faye[/name_f] from the list your husband vetoed, and wonder if you could use it as a middle. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] would also be a great middle, since your husband likes it so much.
[name_f][/name_f]
I don’t think you need more suggestions, but since lists are fun:
