I’m due with baby #2 in [name_u]November[/name_u] (waiting to find out the gender, so this post may be rendered pointless) and don’t have any concrete names yet. The names we’ve consistently liked are [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]/[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is out of the running, though, due to having the same ending as our last name (Tamsey with an R). I like [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] more than my husband and he likes [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] more than I do. Also can’t agree on spelling for [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]/[name_u]Vivian[/name_u].
Our daughters name is [name_u]Holland[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. We would like it to have the same vibe, but not start with an H or an R and we would also like it to not end with the -ee sound and it not be a place name. Anywhere popularity-wise is fine.
Similar post on boys forum. If you wouldn’t mind helping there as well, that’d be great!
what about [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]?
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] has the same spunk and class as [name_u]Holland[/name_u] and then you have [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] that can be classified as old school classics
I like [name_m]Everley[/name_m] (even with -ey last name) and I find [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] very romantic but perhaps slightly hard with an R last name. [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] / [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is too harsh to my ear - the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation softens it but you can’t rely on that! Anyway, perhaps something else to consider (if only to cement what you have already):
I love [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] & it’s my favorite with [name_u]Holland[/name_u]. [name_u]Holland[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]?
I might be totally missing your style, but to me, these all sound like sister names to [name_u]Holland[/name_u]!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] with [name_u]Holland[/name_u].
What about:
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] (sorry ends with R but [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] in combo with [name_u]Holland[/name_u])
Congrats! I love [name_u]Holland[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a family name that I love, and would have loved to use as a middle name, but best friend wants to use it as a first name if she has a girl).
We’re expecting our first, and planning on naming her [name_u]Holland[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (another family middle name), so I squealed in delight when I saw your post!
If we ever have another girl, she’d likely be [name_u]Arden[/name_u]. Other names in our style include [name_u]Bay[/name_u] and [name_u]Remy[/name_u].
To go with [name_u]Holland[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], I like:
Thank you, loves! So, so many fantastic suggestions were given by all of you! Our favorites so far are [name_f]Calla[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. There were lots others that I really liked, but hubs didn’t, or vise versa.
@auntie_a [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl and always planned on naming my daughter that, but unfortunately my husband can’t stand it, so we won’t be using it.
@kjh446 I’m so in love with [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_u]Holland[/name_u] together as well! I would name this baby that in a heartbeat (if they are in fact a girl), but my husband is still unsure.
@afineskyline [name_m]How[/name_m] exciting, congratulations! [name_u]Holland[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is stunning!
@dawnk Thank you! I’ve been thinking the same recently.
The more I post about these names, the more in love with [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] I’ve grown! I think if I present [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] to my husband (or [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] - his preferred spelling), he might go for it. Time will tell
I’m a huge fan of [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]…it’s my name! I loved it growing up because it was different. I didn’t meet many Laurels. Sure, people would call me [name_f]Laura[/name_f] or [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] (sometimes a teacher would call me one of those the entire school year no matter how many times I corrected him) but I honestly didn’t care that much. It’s a wonderful name. I highly recommend it.
