What would you name a sister to [name_f]Emma[/name_f]?
Some of my favorites right now include [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f]/[name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
(4) Not too popular, if it can be avoided. (‘Nothing too popular’ was a rule when I named [name_f]Emma[/name_f] but when I saw the name, it was the name.)
Of the names you listed, I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is nice if she has a cute nickname–I’m partial to [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] sounds nice.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and goes beautifully with [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but it IS becoming more popular.
What about [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as a nickname? [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] sounds good together, too. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your ideas are… [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] (my favorite!)
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
A few suggestions I have are…
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f]/a
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] would make a fabulous sister set. I think all of your favorites go very well with [name_f]Emma[/name_f].
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] is lovely! From the names you listed, I really love [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (particularly [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] would be darling for sisters!), but they’re all lovely and would pair really well with sweet little [name_f]Emma[/name_f].
A few ideas:
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] (love!)
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (or [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]? [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] (love!)
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f]/[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
I find that the [name_u]London[/name_u] Telegraph often has some unusual choices in it’s birth announcements, here’s a link to the ones with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] in them
lanev - I’ve had [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] on my list and love it with the nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f] but I don’t feel like it’s the name, unfortunately. I do like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] but wouldn’t use it because a dear friend has an angel daughter named [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] though! I think I’d use [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] if I used [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]!
blancheneige - [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] are darling together, aren’t they?
dramagrl19 - I love [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] together! I also like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! I had [name_f]Alice[/name_f] on my list but took it off because I don’t think I like it enough to use.
lovemysweeties - [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] (and [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]) are on my list as well! I’m just not sure if I want to use it since [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and all of its spellings are so popular here. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is on my list, too! [name_m]How[/name_m] could I forget to mention that?!
ashthedreamer - I really like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]! I’ve toyed with the idea of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] but might save it for a second middle name.
lawsonhaley - [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] definitely does NOT count as an ‘ann’ name! I love the name but cannot stand how it sounds in my accent. [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], oh so lovely! I really like [name_f]Maude[/name_f], too. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is on my list, as is [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (although I think I prefer [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]). I like [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. Thanks for the link to the Telegraph announcements, I’ll have to look through it!
All the way through reading this I was thinking of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but I see it has been mentioned already.
I’d definitely pair another classic name with [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
What about?
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
My favorite sister name for [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. With [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a sister [name_f]Emma[/name_f] goes from feeling rather trendy and overused to feeling classic and timeless (which she is, but I know so many Emmas it’s hard for me to see her that way sometimes.)
Now from your list my favorites with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], they do what [name_f]Jane[/name_f] does, remind me of [name_f]Emma[/name_f]'s timelessness. I love, love, love [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], but not so much with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] since they both start with E, end in A and have 4 letters.
