I love [name]Persephone[/name] but have issues finding similar girls names to go along with it (I would use [name]Hermione[/name] for a twin, but not another sister). So far I’ve come up with [name]Veronica[/name], [name]Astrid[/name], and Tatienne. They’re exotic, but familiar. Any thoughts?
Also, middle names? With unusual names like [name]Persephone[/name] I prefer very grounded, simple classics like [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Jane[/name]. I’ve thought about [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Petra[/name] [name]Leontine[/name] and [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Anne[/name] Gaëlle. Help please!
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Raphaela[/name]
[name]Philomena[/name] (if you don’t mind repeating initials - it’s two different sounds, so it’s not too bad)
[name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Amaryllis[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Isabeau[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] and Maximilienne (French feminine form of [name]Maximilian[/name])
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Calantha[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Olympia[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Antonia[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] and Crysanthemum
I love [name]Persephone[/name] …but I’m biased, mine is 9 months old. Her mn is [name]Lily[/name] which doesn’t flow well but it was to honour Dh’s gran.
Her sister is [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Jane[/name].
I like [name]Veronica[/name] from your list.
Others on my long list were
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Octavia[/name]
[name]Cleopatra[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name]
I like long names with history
I think [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Hermione[/name] would work wonderfully for sisters, more so than twins in my opinion. My suggestions would be:
As for middle names, I like your suggestions a lot. The [name]Hermione[/name] combo is perhaps a little long though, depending on what a surname would be. I’d suggest:
What do you think of [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Cleopatra[/name] [name]Eve[/name]?
I also really like [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Isadora[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], and [name]Eleonora[/name], though prefer [name]Leonora[/name]. [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Leonora[/name] look nice together.
[name]Just[/name] noticed [name]Anastasia[/name] as well, which I adore.
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Hermione[/name] do work well for sisters. With twins, they’re a bit too matchy in my opinion.
Other mythological names (some of these are unusual, some of them common or well known. Some of these aren’t Greek, as well, but would provide a subtle connection):
Well [name]Cleopatra[/name] is certainly a bold choice. She was a brilliant and powerful woman. Obviously she came to a tragic end, but so did [name]Persephone[/name]. [name]Both[/name] names have a very strong shadow about them. Which is interesting - not necessarily bad imo.
I’m not really feeling [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Eve[/name] with your names. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Garnet[/name]
Apparently, [name]Garnet[/name] is an English surname referring to a person who sold pomegranates. Which is appropriate for [name]Persephone[/name], obvs.
To keep with the jewel theme, you could do [name]Cleopatra[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]. [name]Cleopatra[/name] wore a lot of them! If you do name your daughter [name]Cleopatra[/name], I highly recommend the biography by [name]Stacy[/name] Schiff, and the nickname [name]Cleo[/name]
