I’ve been playing around with baby names lately, and My husband and I agree on the name [name]Thor[/name] for a boy. However i dont think it fits well with the two girl names i love: Deschanel and ([name]Charlotte[/name]) nn [name]Charlie[/name].
[name]Thor[/name]… Interesting… As a teacher I have encountered many names, but never a [name]Thor[/name]. For a girl name to go with [name]Thor[/name] it would definitely need to be a strong name like [name]Athena[/name] or [name]Helena[/name]. Those names are Greek though so I don’t know if you would want to mix the two. Please make sure that neither of you two have any doubts about [name]Thor[/name] before filling out the certificate, because it is a very… unique name especially with the movies being out now.
I really love that you are brave enough to use [name]Thor[/name]. It’s one of my fans! I don’t think you have to pair it up with other Scandinavian names. What about [name]Juno[/name] or [name]Iona[/name]?
I actually knew a [name]Thor[/name] and he certainly suited his name like a glove. He was tall, blond and masculine so I have nothing but positive good feelings for the name. I think [name]Charlotte[/name] would be better choice than Deschanel but I would choose something either mythological or Scandinavian/Germanic for his sibling. The pp’s suggestions of [name]Freya[/name], [name]Juno[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] would be lovely. Here are some other suggestions.
I love the name [name]Thor[/name]! I’m planning to use it for one of my twins due any day. I had some doubts at first because it’s uncommon but I say go for it! Our girl name was going to be [name]Lois[/name]. We are all about family names
Deschanel would give me more pause than [name]Thor[/name], I think - to me, it immediately brings to mind [name]Zooey[/name] and [name]Emily[/name], not a girl’s first name. And it seems vastly different from [name]Charlotte[/name]. My youngest son’s name is [name]Torin[/name], which has some of the flavor of [name]Thor[/name] but seems (to me, anyway, although I’m certainly biased!) to be more wearable and works well with a lot of other names. Maybe a possibility?
I like [name]Thor[/name] and know two of them…they are both incredible people, so I have nothing but good vibes about the name.
The [name]Thor[/name] I know has a sister named [name]Kjersti[/name] (pron. keer-stee), but I don’t think you would ‘lock’ yourself into using only scandinavian names for his siblings.
