We’re about to have our second baby girl.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the name [name_f]Naya[/name_f] is very similar to the name [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and will be confusing or does it sound cute?
[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to Nameberry!
I don’t think they sound too similar at all. While both two syllables and ending in -a, the first letter and primary vowel sound are complete different.
Not at all! Unless ou pronounce the ia in [name_f]Mia[/name_f] the same way you pronounce the aya in [name_f]Naya[/name_f]. Then it might be a little… But [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Naya[/name_f] are distinct but also very coherent — and definitely sound cute as sisters!
Congratulations!
I think they work well together! I pronounce them Mee-ah and Ny-ah, like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] with a N.
I think they are distinct enough and work well together! I also think it’s cute that their initials are right next to each other in the alphabet.
I think it’s fine. They’re a little similar, but not enough to cause confusion I think.
I think they work - so long as they’re said NIE-uh and MEE-uh? (or NAY-uh and MEE-uh)
Congratulations! In my opinion, they’re too similar. I think both ending in the A sound and being shorter girls names sound too similar. The N and the M at the beginning of both look similar when written down too. I think they’re both beautiful names, but I think they’re too close for siblings.
I don’t think they’re too close in general.
However, I do think that it will be easy to mix them up and yell [name_f]Nia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] when you’re yelling out the back door for them to come to dinner.
I don’t think they’re too similar if you pronounce [name_f]Mia[/name_f] like mee-a and [name_f]Naya[/name_f] like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] with an N. You may find them confusing at some times, but they have their own vowel sound and beginning letter, so I think they work great together!
