I am due with my 2nd baby girl in [name_u]March[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] first is [name_f]Deonna[/name_f] (dee ah nuh) [name_u]Capri[/name_u]. We’ve been struggling with agreeing on a name but both seem to like very feminine style names and are considering [name_f]Aviana[/name_f]. Is it weird to have both girls names ending in anna? Also open to suggestions.
Other names we’ve agreed on/ considered: [name_f]Nylah[/name_f], [name_f]Gia[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
I think these names are different enough that it’s fine. Could also go with [name_f]Avelina[/name_f], [name_f]Alora[/name_f] or [name_f]Amara[/name_f] to get the A + vowel ending.
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] would give you the “ana” still, just at the beginning and would also give you a feminine choice and a vowel ending so if it were me, I would probably go with that one!
I don’t think it’s too weird especially if this is your last child (so it seems like a nice connection between rather than a potentially annoying theme) but there are probably other names you could like just as much:
Avalon
Riviera
Giselle
Zariah
Elodie
Amiyah
Sarai
Elara
Estella
Chiara
Jasmine
And I like the suggestion of Cambria
I think Vanessa is nice but possibly too straight/buttoned up in a way compared to her sister’s name? Hmm, maybe it is a good pairing. I’m just not a massive fan of any of the nicknames for Vanessa. I like Gia - it’s a cool name - but instinctively want it to be a nickname - but then get into the Anna territory (Gianna etc). Nylah is pretty!
I think it could be okay because the two names have a different number of syllables, but it still gives me a lot of pause. I love [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] with [name_f]Deonna[/name_f]!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Aviva[/name_f].
Some other ideas:
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]
[name_u]Sasha[/name_u]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
It bothers me that you are pronouncing both endings AH NAH, but they are spelled differently in the two names. I think any three syllable name ending in A, but not the AH NAH sound would work well.
Agree with [name_f]Gia[/name_f], it feels like its missing something, which is why it wasn’t top of the list. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband liked [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] and it felt too common and that’s how we landed on [name_f]Deonna[/name_f] the first time. He didnt like [name_f]Giovanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Gianina[/name_f], so were just like [name_f]Gia[/name_f], maybe?
I like [name_f]Amiyah[/name_f] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] but have family/friends with those names. [name_f]Do[/name_f] like [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] and [name_f]Zariah[/name_f]. Thanks for the suggestions!
[name_f]Gia[/name_f] could be short for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]. There’s also [name_f]Giacinta[/name_f], which I think complements [name_f]Deonna[/name_f] very well, and [name_f]Gisela[/name_f] (another option since you like Giselle).
I really like [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], too, and it feels like a good match for [name_f]Deonna[/name_f].
I don’t really like them both having [name_f]Anna[/name_f] ending; a little too close for me. I think [name_f]Deonna[/name_f] and [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] are very sweet together.
