Sisters with similar first and middle name

We love the name [name_f]Nora[/name_f] for baby Nr. 4. Siblings are [name_m]Jakob[/name_m], [name_m]Theodor[/name_m] and [name_f]Martha[/name_f]. We can’t seem to agree on any other name both of us love as much. The issue is that our first daughter‘s middle name is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], however we never really say her middle name. I know [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is often used as a nickname for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but I feel since we wouldn’t be using the exact name but a variation of the name it would be fine. In fact many people don’t know [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] since it’s also a stand alone name. From what I’ve experienced Elli/Ella is more common as a nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and given that both names start with a different letter and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] has the added „a“ I think it’s not that obvious.
I would never choose these two names as first names for two sisters but since one is just the middle name I think it might even be cute if the sisters have that connection. Also we live in [name_m]Germany[/name_m] where the name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is not that common so I think the similarity will be even less obvious. What do you think? [name_m]Can[/name_m] we use [name_f]Nora[/name_f] if her sister is [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]?

I think it’s absolutely fine, since [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is just a middle name! [name_f]Martha[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f] are adorable together :yellow_heart:

I think it’s totally fine to use [name_f]Nora[/name_f] even if her sister’s middle name is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is beautiful! I think it works just fine with [name_f]Martha[/name_f]. They don’t sound too similar to me.

I think it’s absolutely fine, since [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a middle, [name_f]Nora[/name_f] can be a nickname/variant of multiple names, and it’s a subtle link between them. As long as Nora’s middle isn’t [name_f]Marta[/name_f], [name_f]Martina[/name_f], [name_f]Marlene[/name_f] etc, I don’t think it will be a problem.

Absolutely fine go for it! [name_f]Nora[/name_f] works wonderfully and is a lovely choice.

I think its fine and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] ia lovely.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] would definitely be too much if her sister’s first name was [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (or she went by Eleanor), but it’s totally fine in this scenario!
