[name_u]Sky[/name_u] is so usable!

Honestly I went to school with kids called [name_u]Sky[/name_u] and that was unusual (i’m 30 and left school at 16 so this was a long time ago). However using [name_u]Sky[/name_u] nowadays completely works. I know children named [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Sky[/name_u] is breezy, fun and recognisable. I would probably pair [name_u]Sky[/name_u] with something like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] to provide a more grounded feel but she works.

Still a great name. Be aware it is also a popular [name_f]Paw[/name_f] Patrol character.

I really like [name_u]Sky[/name_u]! Am hearing it more for boys these days which is interesting. Don’t see it as especially hippy but probably because the [name_u]Sky[/name_u] I knew growing up was “Skye” after the [name_u]Isle[/name_u] of [name_u]Skye[/name_u]. I prefer this, I think - it looks more tailored and settled to me, and it could be a good option especially if you have Scottish heritage. I think it’ll fit in either way, with the rise of word names and people’s naming styles being more liberal anyway.

[name_u]Sky[/name_u] is lovely - it feels airy and bright, but solid and established too. I’ve met a number of Skys/Skyes, one little kid, several people in their twenties and a teen too

I like [name_u]Sky[/name_u], but prefer [name_u]Skye[/name_u].

“Too hippie” is more of a personal taste issue, but if you’re worried about it coming off as weird, you could pair [name_u]Sky[/name_u] with a normal/common middle name that isn’t a word name, like [name_u]Sky[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for a girl or [name_u]Sky[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] for a boy (because I think [name_u]Sky[/name_u] with that spelling is gender neutral?)

Tbh [name_u]Sky[/name_u] is one of the first names I ever remember liking (I think it was a name of a sesame street character when I was 4 or 5!) So it doesnt seem too hippie to me as its been around and in use for 30ish years

A few points…

-I think with the popularity of Skylar/Schuyler/Skyler it is heard more often than the charts would indicate.

-also word nature names are pretty popular right now like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Ivy[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_u]Lark[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u] etc. so I dont think [name_u]Sky[/name_u] would be out of place or feel too hippie/naturey at all

I love the name [name_u]Sky[/name_u] for both genders, but specifically for a girl! I love the image and colors that I associate with [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. If you are religious, if you adore astronomy or you just love the sound of [name_u]Sky[/name_u], it may be the perfect name for you!
I believe it fits well with the names that are used nowadays. Everyone has different tastes and styles, I don’t know what you consider “too hippie” but that’s not how I would describe most of the names, even the word names or nature themed options.

I don’t find it hippie at all actually. Very usable and cute.

I love this name! I will say as a standalone name I’ve seen it spelled [name_u]Skye[/name_u] more often, and [name_u]Sky[/name_u] a nickname for [name_u]Skylar[/name_u]
