Me and DH love the name [name]Sloane[/name] for a boy, my nephew used to have a male classmate called [name]Sloane[/name] so we knew it could be used for a boy and I don’t know of any female Sloanes.
[name]Do[/name] you see it for a girl or a boy?

I really don’t see it for either gender. It’s ‘slimy’ to me and I see the use of this as a name as pretentious.
[name]Sloane[/name] is a strong surname and therefore usable for either. I [name]LOVE[/name] the name
It’s male (or not fn material at all) to me, i just don’t get why names like [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Sloane[/name] and [name]Tatum[/name] are used on girls/seen as feminine.
I think of super-sexy [name]Sloane[/name] from Entourage (lady) first, then super-sexy but slimy [name]Grey[/name]'s Anatomy guy. So, while I actually think it is more appropriate for a man, the man I associate it with is sleaze-ball.
The upside? Apparently it’s a super-sexy name
Thanks for the feedback, it makes me feel better about using it for a boy! We’re currently crushing on [name]Sloane[/name] for the boy twin but we’re not 100% sure yet, we were crushing on Wylder/[name]Wilder[/name] yesterday! We’re really indecisive but I’m really loving [name]Sloane[/name] at the moment!
Although I would like to consider it unisex, I have only ever seen in used on girls, so in my mind it seems feminine. Potentially, it is uncommon enough that it could probably work on a boy. It seems like it should be a boy’s name, more so than a girl’s. I do like [name]Sloane[/name] and don’t find it “slimy”. I prefer [name]Sloane[/name] to [name]Wilder[/name].
I’ve only known female Sloanes, but I like it on a boy. I think it works well on either gender.
[name]Sloane[/name] to me is a boys name but I makes me think of a criminal and I’m not sure why.
The only [name]Sloane[/name] I am aware of is the (female) Entourage character.
I knew a girl named [name]Sloane[/name] but it was spelled Silone. I honestly can picture it on either a boy or a girl, though I prefer it on a boy.
To me I automatically think of Mc Steamy from [name]Grey[/name]'s Anatomy who I loved, and whose surname was [name]Sloane[/name], but the characters daughter was also called [name]Sloane[/name]. Personally I’d say more for a boy as I see it is quite similar to [name]Sawyer[/name] and I see that as a strongly male name.
I vote neither because it’s highly unattractive, but BOY if you must - I think it sounds absolutely awful on a girl, I don’t get the [name]Sloane[/name] / [name]Sawyer[/name] / [name]Tatum[/name] (last names trend in general) for girls, either.
I agree. I think it’s sliiiightly less bad on a boy, though.
It’s a virus name to me, very strong, sexy and sleek on a girl but sort of effeminate on a boy
It’s a favorite for both genders
[name]Sloan[/name] is the spelling more used for boys but I don’t like it, it feels incomplete without the E
This exactly.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re not 100% set on it yet but we’re considering it for the boy twin!
[name]Sloane[/name] Stephens is an up and comings women’s tennis player. She may be the next big thing after [name]Williams[/name] for the US. If so the name might get more attention as a girls name
Same here! Kind of reminds me of [name]Al[/name] Capone? Definitely see it as a boy name.
