I’m looking for a soft, feminine sounding middle name for [name_f]Mae[/name_f], preferably with three syllables to fill the name out a little bit since [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is so short. Nothing too “out there.” So far I like how [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] sounds with it, but [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is pretty common. I also think [name_f]Arabel[/name_f] is pretty. Other suggestions would be much appreciated!
One thing I’ve found tricky with the name [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is that I wouldn’t want the first initial of middle name to make a weird word, since her name would often be written with her middle name initial. Example: [name_f]Mae[/name_f] B. [name_m]Johnson[/name_m] would sound like “maybe,” or [name_f]Mae[/name_f] O. [name_m]Johnson[/name_m] would sound like the condiment, etc. Maybe I’m being too picky, but this is my only possible chance to name a girl (last baby, three boys already and don’t know this baby’s gender) so I don’t want to have any regrets!
I’m so happy to see [name_f]Mae[/name_f] in the first spot! WTG!
We did [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], although I let my husband pick that one, and it wasn’t my first choice. But it is nice, soft, and a nice longer well established name for her middle.
One thing I was worried about was the run-together of [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and another name - [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] sounds a lot like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] something, or even just one long name!
What about
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Corrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]?
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] might fit your tastes with [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], and as for [name_f]Arabel[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]?
For options already said, I second [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Winona[/name_f], and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
Maybe [name_f]Ella[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m] sounds good. I like [name_f]Arabel[/name_f] though.
Thank you for all of the suggestions! I especially like [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I also really like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], as one previous poster gave for her dd’s mn, since that is my great-grandmother’s name. But my husband isn’t as big of a fan, and he would definitely say no to anything too unusual. I’m also holding out hope that he might warm up to [name_u]Tierney[/name_u], a family surname. He’s so picky yet doesn’t contribute his own ideas…grr!
