Some additional boy possibilities

I know you’re probably sick of my posts and thinking, “Just name the child Samson or Linus and get on with it!”.

But here is a hodgepodge of randoms that keep coming back up. Some have wayyyyy too many middle options and need to be culled down, others I haven’t had a chance to make many middle options for them and could use some suggestions. But mainly just needing some “absolutely lose these names” or “these are worth keeping” input on first name options to go with brothers Warren and Clyde.

Thank you! :grimacing:

first names to keep on the list: [name_m]Samson[/name_m] (Sammy [name_m]Jammy[/name_m] is precious :face_holding_back_tears:), [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m], [name_m]Murray[/name_m], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]

I think [name_f]Glover[/name_f] could make a great middle name, but not fond if it as a first (Linus [name_f]Glover[/name_f]? [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] Glover?). [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] and [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] are a bit too debonair for your more rough-and-tumble set. And I think [name_m]Duke[/name_m] might be too casual. [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] could work, but I prefer distinct initials.

For middle names, [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m], and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] are my favorites. [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Ray[/name_m] is super fun!

I agree [name_f]Glover[/name_f] doesn’t really make sense as a first name. My mom mentioned it as an alternative because I love [name_m]Grover[/name_m] and it was a family name.
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] and [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] are a bit “much” next to brothers’ names.

I’m really digging [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], and [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Ray[/name_m]!

[name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] ‘Sammy Jammy’ is fun and a solid choice!

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] is great, and I enjoy [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Crosby[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] a lot

[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] is zippy and interesting – unexpected with C and W but not odd. [name_m]Not[/name_m] sure I love any of the middles - [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Dean[/name_m] came to mind

[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] is handsome, bubbly and charming. [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Ray[/name_m] and [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Clemens[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Samson[/name_m], [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] would be nice

[name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] has clunky, old-man vibes, but kind of cool in line with [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], [name_m]Ernie[/name_m], [name_m]Stanley[/name_m] and [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m]. [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is nice - [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] came to mind

[name_m]Rudy[/name_m] has a sweet yet outdoorsy feel to it. I like it. [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Ray[/name_m] is nice – [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] came to mind too. Or [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Amos[/name_m] and [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] too.

[name_f]Glover[/name_f] is intriguing – I don’t dislike it but think it would make a better middle. [name_m]Like[/name_m] [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_f]Glover[/name_f], [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_f]Glover[/name_f], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_f]Glover[/name_f], [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_f]Glover[/name_f] etc.

[name_m]Murray[/name_m] is charming – breezy and outdoorsy by smart too. [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] came to mind

[name_m]Duke[/name_m] is strong yet playful, and unexpected too. I do find it a little heavy though. [name_m]Duke[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Duke[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m], [name_m]Duke[/name_m] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_m]Duke[/name_m] [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] came to mind

[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] is literary and old-fashioned – but still has a kind of spirited feel. [name_m]Not[/name_m] a favourite personally but I can see the appeal

[name_f]Rooney[/name_f] – very cool, gentle and outdoorsy at the same time. [name_f]Rooney[/name_f] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_f]Rooney[/name_f] [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_f]Rooney[/name_f] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_f]Rooney[/name_f] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] came to mind

[name_m]Rigby[/name_m] – rough and tumble with a sharp edges - the -by ending adds a touch of something gentler though. I don’t hate it but I do find it a bit jagged for me.

[name_m]Samson[/name_m] is my favorite first name, but you had several middle names that stood out to me too! In particular, [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], [name_m]Willem[/name_m], [name_m]Murphy[/name_m] and [name_m]Devereaux[/name_m]!

I’m going to organise it like this and star my favourites:

Warren, Clyde & Samson*
Warren, Clyde & Linus
Warren, Clyde & Crosby*
Warren, Clyde & Barnaby
Warren, Clyde & Humphrey
Warren, Clyde & Rudy*
Warren, Clyde & Glover* (for sentimental reasons :face_holding_back_tears:)
Warren, Clyde & Murray*
Warren, Clyde & Duke
Warren, Clyde & Gilbert*
Warren, Clyde & Rooney
Warren, Clyde & Rigby

Samson, Crosby, Rudy, Glover, Murray, & Gilbert

I think once you are able to narrow it down some more, it’ll be easier to focus on middles! I know of a great spinning wheel website that helps me narrow down my top names. https://pickerwheel.com/

You could also flip a coin and if you feel your heart sink a little for a name that lost, that’s the one :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My top 3 are Samson, Rudy, & Gilbert!

I would never. Your posts are way too interesting to even consider it!

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]James[/name_m] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] for you, I’d avoid anything ending in an S with [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_m]Ellis[/name_m], etc. just sound too rhymey for me. Of your [name_m]Linus[/name_m] combos, these are probably my favorites: [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (my favorite forever!), [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Foster[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m].

[name_m]Crosby[/name_m] I think has an adorable meaning, and I love -by names for boys! But I know a lot associate it with [name_m]Bill[/name_m] [name_f]Cosby[/name_f] which isn’t the best association anymore. I do like [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] though!

[name_m]Like[/name_m] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], LOVE [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] though. I find [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] [name_m]Clement[/name_m] to be so ridiculously dreamy! But [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is also great.

[name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] doesn’t do much for me, but I think it goes great with your boys, and [name_f]Free[/name_f] would be an adorable nn! I really like the idea of [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m].

LOVE [name_f]Glover[/name_f] (prefer [name_m]Grover[/name_m], but [name_f]Glover[/name_f] itself is very sweet too!), and I really like [name_f]Glover[/name_f] [name_m]Devereaux[/name_m].

And I also really like [name_m]Duke[/name_m], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] nn [name_m]Gil[/name_m] or [name_m]Gibby[/name_m], and [name_m]Rigby[/name_m]! [name_m]You[/name_m] have the most delightful name considerations

All the best!

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (makes me think of the teddy bear emoji :teddy_bear:every time for some reason? :joy::woman_shrugging:), [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Foster[/name_m], and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] are some of my fave options for him. :blue_heart:

[name_m]The[/name_m] proximity to [name_m]Bill[/name_m] [name_f]Cosby[/name_f] is exactly why my husband doesn’t think [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] would be it. I think it’s purely the alliteration of [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] that makes me have a hard time fully vetoing it, haha. But I do think that one will have to go.

Thank you for the kind words!

[name_m]The[/name_m] wheel spin or coin flip might actually work for me, haha! I know there have been several times that I’ve nearly decided to cross a name off a list but then I see or hear someone else use it in our circle and I feel a twinge of defensiveness like, “Hey, that’s our name!!”. :joy: So maybe a coin will help me see how passionately I feel about a particular name.

LOVE [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m]! And [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Rudy[/name_m] [name_m]Raymond[/name_m].

Also agree [name_f]Glover[/name_f] would be better not as a first- I dig [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_f]Glover[/name_f]. My husband also has totally changed his mind on [name_m]Grover[/name_m], so now there’s potential for that being a first. :joy: Haven’t decided if we think it’s too out there or too connected to [name_f]Sesame[/name_f] [name_f]Street[/name_f] and dogs yet, though.

Adding [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Murray[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] to potential middles for him. :face_holding_back_tears:

Aww glad I could help! Can’t wait to see what you chose :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_m]Experience[/name_m] in childcare

They seem to only know [name_m]Grover[/name_m] if you read alot of [name_m]Grover[/name_m] books.

TV and toy based it’s [name_m]Elmo[/name_m], [name_f]Abby[/name_f], [name_f]Cookie[/name_f] that they recognize and connect names

Unless they really like types of sesame shows. Most move on and checkout things friends like. They all know who Spiderman is even if they don’t watch it.
