The only one I’m not too keen on is [name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f], and that’s simply because it’s not my style. The others are gorgeous! I especially love [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] & [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
Nell [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]----very pretty. I probably would go with [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]—spunky and fun.
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]—flip these around and it would be a pretty cool combo.
Love all the first names! As for the combos, I really like [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]!
My favorites are [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]! I’m not a fan of [name_f]Nell[/name_f] but I do think [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] sounds nice!
Hmm…
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Polly[/name_f] is such a sweet vintage name absolutely love [name_f]Polly[/name_f] it’s just endearing. I think [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] sounds great with [name_f]Polly[/name_f]
Boy suggestions:
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Henrik[/name_m]
[name_u]Bertie[/name_u] [name_m]Clement[/name_m]
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
Nell [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] ~ honestly this name feels so vogue proper fashionable gem. [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is very simplistic choice and I like it with [name_f]Amalia[/name_f].
Boy Suggestions:
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Bram[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
Birdie [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] ~ this isn’t a favourite of mine but I can see the appeal
Boy suggestions:
[name_m]Hamish[/name_m] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
Cecily [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] ~ ah such a sweet vintage gem!
Boy suggestions:
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]
Flora [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] ~ this is a gorgeous name really beautiful. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is lovely & sounds great with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] lovely swoon worthy choice.
Boy Suggestions:
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Beaumont[/name_m]
Flora [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is my favourite. It’s still got that vintage charm, but [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is also fresh, bright and fun. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
Nell [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is also very pretty, and it’s refreshing and interesting to see [name_f]Nell[/name_f] used by itself (as opposed to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f]). [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is elegant and unusual, I much prefer it to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
I would like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] if it was [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! For some reason [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] just seems clunky and not very feminine to me.
Birdie [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is adorable, and has a great flow and balance between fresh and classic, so it’s a good combo. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern would be how well [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] ages on an adult - maybe there’s another name you could use to get to nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]? Like an actual bird name e.g. [name_u]Lark[/name_u], [name_u]Raven[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u]?
I don’t particularly like [name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]. [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] is nice enough, but I don’t think there’s anything really special about [name_f]Polly[/name_f].
Flora [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is just beautiful. Two of my favourites that go so well together. I love [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f] too, and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] have been growing on me of late. [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]’s a beautiful name too!
@tori101 wow, thank you so much your opinions and suggestions are super helpful I really love [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] [name_m]Clement[/name_m], [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Beaumont[/name_m] (i’ve been loving beaumont recently).
@Harvest-Endellion wow, thank you! i love your ideas. I was thinking about [name_f]Mathilde[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Earhart[/name_f] would be amazing and a great namesake too! [name_m]Chester[/name_m] and [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] are so cute ans I already have [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] on my list so you’ve definitely nailed my style!! Also [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] is adorable, i’m currently reading the woman in white by wilkie collins so it’s funny you should mention it :))
@tileishamaree thank you!! Yes, I love [name_f]Nell[/name_f] on it’s own too, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is lovely but I honestly just prefer [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is definitely a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine and i would definitely not use it on a real kid for the reasons you mentioned. Using a bird name with nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is a great idea! [name_f]Polly[/name_f] is definitely not everyone’s taste which is understandable
@3musketeersplus1 thanks, it’s good to hear your opinions! [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is sweet
@TDFM aww thank you, i’m glad you like [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]!! Your opinions are really great to know
I love these! Your style is so, so sweet.
Each one is gorgeous individually and lovely in the pairing. I don’t even have anything more to say because I love each one.
I’ll try to think of some boy names to go with them:
[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]
[name_m]Bastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]/Vince
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_m]Olan[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_m]Hank[/name_m]
[name_m]Alvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
Polly [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]-[name_f]Polly[/name_f] is so sweet. It’s friendly, vintage, kind of quiet & easy to picture on a little girl picking flowers in a meadow. I love names like that. Is [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] said like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]? It’s okay. I think this combo flows nicely, even though I’m not huge on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]/Mathilda in general.
Nell [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]-I love [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], but can’t get into [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. Kind of silly, I know. [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is okay. I love [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] but can’t get into [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]! [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is just kind of polished & simple whereas [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] sounds a little more dramatic & exotic. It’s not a bad combo. I just wouldn’t have paired these two together.
Biridie [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]-I can see the appeal of Biridie, but it just seems so nick-namey to me. [name_f]Polly[/name_f] & [name_f]Nell[/name_f] are too, but they seem like they grow up a little bit better. I like the idea of [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] or [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] nn Biridie. Or maybe [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] Madleine is nice style-wise. I don’t love how it repeats the ‘d’ sound.
Cecily [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]-That’s sooo cute. I love the light sing song-y [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. It’s so pretty & very unique. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is kind of quirky but sounds quiet & down to earth. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the combo.
Flora [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]-That is just beautiful & charming as well. I’m not sure how [name_f]Flora[/name_f] hasn’t caught on more yet, but it’s still very uncommon. It’s such a good balance of smart & feminine, but simple & fun. Especially paired w/Clementine. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this combo too.
@lateaugust thank you so much for your input, i’m so happy that you like my combos [name_u]Rudy[/name_u], [name_m]Chester[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] and [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] are amazing suggestions thank you!!
@MichelleM wow, thank you for taking the time to go through them all! [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] is said the same as [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], it’s the older spelling variant [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_u]Amos[/name_u], [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] are so sweet!
