I’m no where near pregnant, but I’m a huge name nerd and I just want some opinions on my current girl’s list.

[name]Nadia[/name]-I recently fell in love with this name, but I’m not sure if I can use it. Is it too dated? Too exotic with my other names?

[name]Luella[/name]-I’ve loved this name forever, and since my older sister didn’t chose it for her baby, I will most likely have a chance to use it. I think the nn [name]Lula[/name] is so cute!

[name]Stella[/name]-I recently started to love [name]Stella[/name] as well, but what are some nicknames and middle names for it?

[name]Emmeline[/name]-An old favorite of mine that has resurfaced, what do you think of it and [name]Emmy[/name] as the nn?

[name]Felicity[/name]-I will most likely use this for a sister to [name]Emmeline[/name], who will probably be my first daughter. What do you think? And Fliss as a nn?

[name]Catherine[/name]-This one’s kinda hard. I have an ex-best friend who’s first name was [name]Catherine[/name], but she always went by her middle name. However, I still think of her when I see [name]Catherine[/name] and as much as I love it, I’m afraid that that’s what I’ll always think of.

[name]Marianne[/name]-I’m obsessed with this because of Sense and Sensibility, but is is too dated now?

[name]Alice[/name]-Another one I’ve been obsessed with for a while now, but I just now opened up the possibility of using it as a first name.

[name]Nadia[/name]: It’s pretty, but I can see how it can be considered a little dated. I think it fits in nicely in your list.

[name]Luella[/name]: It’s nice, though I prefer more classic names like [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Lucretia[/name], etc. I know a [name]Luella[/name] who goes by [name]Lulu[/name].

[name]Stella[/name]: [name]Stella[/name] is pretty, but it’s becoming very trendy. I don’t think it needs a nickname. Middles:

[name]Felicity[/name]: It’s lovely, but not one of my favorites. [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] seem perfect together! Fliss is cute…

[name]Catherine[/name]: If you think of your ex-friend every time you hear the name, it’s probably not a good idea. Though the association might be forgotten by the time you’re going to have a kid. It’s a lovely name, but too common for me personally.

[name]Marianne[/name]: I actually really like [name]Marianne[/name], and I don’t consider it dated. The only thing is that it will most likely be confused for [name]Mary[/name] [name]Ann[/name], and to me the two names are completely different.

[name]Alice[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Alice[/name]! It’s one of my favorite names.

[name]Nadia[/name]-I love love love this name too! It’s beautiful and I don’t think at all dated and certainly not too exotic, just the right amount of exotic and familiar!

[name]Luella[/name]-I don’t love this. I can see why someone would, it’s certainly cute, but I’m not sure I can see it on an adult and to me it sounds a little made up.

[name]Stella[/name]-I’m not a [name]Stella[/name] fan. [name]Just[/name] makes me think of the lager :S In the UK there are certain associations made with “[name]Stella[/name]” drinkers lol. To me it’s very harsh sounding for a little girl. If I had to pick a similar name I’d say [name]Estelle[/name] would be my fav but I don’t love any fo those names really.

[name]Emmeline[/name]-This is cute but very old fashioned and country sounding to me. I can see a little [name]Emmeline[/name] living on a farm somewhere, which isn’t necessarily a bad image! [name]Emmy[/name] is cute as a nn.

[name]Felicity[/name]-I love this name :slight_smile: I actually think it would go really well with [name]Nadia[/name]. Fliss is a super cute nn. I knew a [name]Felicity[/name] once who’s sister was [name]Natalie[/name] (similar to [name]Nadia[/name]) and who went by the nn [name]Flick[/name]! :S Not so cute lol.

[name]Catherine[/name]-I like [name]Catherine[/name] and want to use it as a middlename because it’s a family name, but if you have negative associations maybe you could try a variation instead? Like [name]Catalina[/name]? [name]Katherina[/name]? [name]Kate[/name]? [name]Cathleen[/name]?

[name]Marianne[/name]-I hate this but for personal reasons, I met a [name]Marianne[/name] in childhood who was a bit of a bully :S For that reason I can’t really give an unbiased opinion on the name! I’m sure I’d probably still think it was quite dated though to be honest.

[name]Alice[/name]-I adore this, I think it’s so gorgeous and classic!! Definitely use this as a first name :slight_smile:

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Marianne[/name] - [name]Marianne[/name] softens [name]Stella[/name] a little but the whole name sounds dated
