Hello all,
I’m expecting my second baby, to join daughter [name_f]Katia[/name_f] ([name_f]Katia[/name_f] [name_f]Polly[/name_f]). we haven’t found out the sex, but have clearer ideas for boys names. [name_m]Both[/name_m] I and my husband like [name_m]Axel[/name_m]…but not its sudden spike in popularity.
Any suggestions for similar sounding names- spunky, lively, kinda boyish, international feel?- would be great.
As far as girls names go, we have considered [name_f]Siri[/name_f], [name_f]Nele[/name_f] (prn. Ne-lay, but with maybe more a cross between ‘lay’ and ‘leh’ ) and [name_f]Una[/name_f], but not really found any obvious choice. ANY suggestions for girls would be amazing- can’t seem to find anything we really love!
C names are out since our surname is Campion- [name_f]Katia[/name_f]'s name was debated long and hard for pretty much this reason. K names also not really a possibility for us.
My first thought for a boy was [name_u]Blaze[/name_u]…or maybe: [name_u]Dane[/name_u], [name_u]Reid[/name_u], [name_u]Loki[/name_u], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Ace[/name_m], [name_u]Blake[/name_u]/[name_u]Blaine[/name_u].
I’ve honestly got know idea for girl suggestions, your current ideas feel different in style to [name_f]Katia[/name_f]. Hopefully these will inspire you:
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
grackiem, I think the boy suggestions are a little trendy/modern for me. Interesting that my girls options feel so different to [name_f]Katia[/name_f]. What names might you pair with her?
I like [name_f]Nola[/name_f] from your girls list a lot!
judyariel, I think you are on my wavelength. I loved a heap of these…
Really like [name_f]Delia[/name_f] but not sure about the shared ‘ia’ ending, might be a little sing song.
Also [name_f]Uma[/name_f] really catches my eye… we’ve considered [name_f]Una[/name_f] a lot but never [name_f]Uma[/name_f], and I like it!
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] I really like but am worried by the pop culturiness of the film tie? Torn on this one.
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] I love too! But maybe a little popular now for me (with regret).
Really like [name_u]Ezri[/name_u] for a boy. Making a note! Has the same zany but wearable feel I like from a name. Intriguing.
chrisco, really interesting list to pick over. I like [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]- might be a little girlie for my taste though?
I like [name_m]Ives[/name_m], pretty unequivocally! Definite flare.
alzora- thanks for the compliment. feel like my lists are a bit all over the place… I’m interested by [name_f]Keiko[/name_f]. I actually really love Japanese names. [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t considered a name so distinctively associated with Japan- do you think a (very!) Causasian child can wear a Japanese name?
Would love to hear any more you might know/recommend though.
I think a child can wear any name that his or her parents love. You may also like the Japanese name Nami, which I adore. I believe it means “wave” (it is, after all, part of the word tsunami). You may also like some Hawaiian names if you use the Nameberry advanced search. Good luck!
[name_f]Una[/name_f] is pretty! What about [name_f]Leilani[/name_f] or Koa for a boy? Though slightly more popular I’ve always liked [name_u]Kai[/name_u] for a boy or [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] for a girl. I like the simplicity and sound of [name_m]Cross[/name_m], though it has obvious religious connotations. : ) Good luck!
