Sophia or Sophie?

Which do you prefer and why?

I much prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] – [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] feels way more overdone to me for some reason, while [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] still has something fun and quirky about it. Most Sophias I know go by [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].

sophie!! (my daughters name!)

I just find it more elegant and I think sophia is so overused :frowning: (I love [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] though!)

I like [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]! If it wasn’t so popular, [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] would certainly be on my list

I really like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]! It’s sweet/cute but serious enough for a grown woman. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] seems kind of fussy to me.

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]! [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is currently one of my favourites should S/O and I have a girl :two_hearts:

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] sounds sweeter to me

I love Sophie–it just sounds so warm and friendly and full of energy! Strangely I’ve never much cared for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. I do like the [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] spelling, but I like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] more than either!

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]! It has a sleeker, stylish feel

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] feels incomplete.

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] seems sweeter and less popular to me

Honestly, I’m not a fan of either as it makes me think of a sofa.

Of the two, I prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], then you have more nickname options, e.g., [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Sia[/name_f], [name_f]Fia[/name_f].

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]! [name_m]Just[/name_m] feels fresher. I have always loved the name [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] though. There’s no other name just like it (other than Sophia). [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] just feels too prim and frilly.

Definitely [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]! It’s one of those “weird” names where I really like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], but Sophia’s never appealed to me :woman_shrugging:t2: Not really sure why!

I prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. It’s stronger and more mature sounding to me.

As a [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], I strongly prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]! I find [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] to be a bit too nicknamey and while most people call me [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] I like to introduce myself as [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and have my teachers call me that.

I really, really love them both! And for different reasons! [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is fun, spunky and down to earth. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] has elegance, mature, and has international flair! I can’t choose, both are lovely!

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. Never liked [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] for me. I think it’s sweet and chic. I almost always prefer “ie” names to “a” names. I’d rather lean cute than frilly.

I like Sophie! Feels more fresh and less common to me, even though it’s still not too out there. I don’t personally know any Sophie’s, and I love the name!
