Distinctively southern names you would only find in the southern states? (Boys and girl names please)
I don’t have many options, but for a boy I would say definitely [name_u]Dale[/name_u].
For girls — maybe [name_u]Merle[/name_u]?
I find (at least in my southern state) that the more culturally southern people actually prefer trendy names like [name_f]Tenley[/name_f]. So strongly so that I can’t imagine these names on a child not in cowboy boots.
I don’t know if it’s possible to find a name you would only find in southern states considering how varied names can be and how knowledge and people are constantly moving and spreading. But, with that said, some names that remind me of a [name_u]Southern[/name_u] vibe are:
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

Went ahead and moved this to the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names category for you since you want names for both genders.
[name_f]My[/name_f] grandmother was named Marjean and [name_m]Ive[/name_m] never met another. [name_m]Herschel[/name_m] also comes to mind. [name_u]Love[/name_u] love [name_f]Lacey[/name_f] and [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] they both feel like iced tea on a front porch to me!
I agree ultra trendy names are popular in the south more than southern/western sounding names.

I’m not sure since I don’t live in the [name_u]South[/name_u] but double barrels for girls with [name_f]Belle[/name_f] in them (e.g. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] Belle) and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] come to mind. I’m not sure for boys
