Spelling of the nickname for Oliver

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m sorry if this has been asked before but I used the search tool and could not find anything.

My son’s name is [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but we mainly call him by the common nickname which I’m struggling to decide how to spell. The most common way is [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] but for some reason I am not partial to using the ‘e’ at the end. My son, who is now 5, has started writing it as ‘Oli’ which I actually don’t mind and I have seen it written this way before. I’m just wondering if anyone thinks this spelling is odd? The other option would be ‘[name_f]Olli[/name_f]’.

Oli
[name_f]Olli[/name_f]
[name_u]Ollie[/name_u]

Opinions welcome - thanks!

I’ve seen Oli quite a lot actually, but I’ve never seen [name_f]Olli[/name_f]. Would [name_u]Olly[/name_u] work for you? My personal favourites are [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_u]Olly[/name_u], they look softer to me in a way.

For some reason I’m not partial to [name_u]Olly[/name_u] either. I think we will stick with Oli, especially considering it seems to be what my son has decided on! Thanks for your input and response.
