The male version of [name]Gene[/name].
What is the proper spelling for a female; [name]Jean[/name]?
I’d say [name]Jean[/name] or [name]Jeanne[/name]. Though [name]Jean[/name] is the simplest and most natural (to me). I’ve heard [name]Jeanne[/name] pronounced both [name]Jean[/name] and [name]Jeannie[/name]. If you’re trying to find the female version of [name]Gene[/name], you could also use [name]Eugenie[/name] or [name]Eugenia[/name].

I dont think [name]Gene[/name] and [name]Jean[/name] are related, I could be wrong but I thought [name]Jean[/name]/[name]Jeanne[/name] stem from [name]John[/name] and all of its different forms and Gene came from [name]Eugene[/name] which is unrelated (as far as I know). Anyways, [name]Jean[/name] can be used for a boy or girl (I think its more masculine) but [name]Jeanne[/name] and [name]Jeane[/name] are both female variations of the name.
