Spellings of Katerina?

I am spelling [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] the way it comes up on spelling correct.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you like to spell this name and do you have have alternative spellings or more than one, which you think is equally good.
Siblings are [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Ned[/name_m]’, [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Miri[/name_f]’ & [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] who still has no consistent nn.
Also suggestions for a middle name. Shorter and what you might call fairly plain names best describe what we are
looking for. [name_f]Cate[/name_f] for instance & which is not my middle, just added to my name for username.
thanks so much.
Edited to add: DD2’s name is not registered yet so I am looking for the most popular
spelling with the sibset.

If you are “Mom to [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] and Kathérina” why are you asking if [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] is a correct spelling?
Kather… and Kater… are very different beginnings.
I thought you were asking about [name_f]Katrina[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] with your sibset. Call her [name_f]Trina[/name_f] ([name_f]Treena[/name_f]).
A list of short, plain middle names would be endless!
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Ann[/name_f]
[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Sue[/name_f]

This is my husband’s all time favorite name. I’ve gone back and forth between the [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] and [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] spellings. I do like [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] and [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] as well, but I probably lean towards the K- variants.

For the time being, I like the repetition of the ‘a’ in [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] most.

It also has so many nicknames, such as [name_f]Katia[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f](my favorite), [name_f]Kat[/name_f], or even [name_u]Kit[/name_u].

Some short middle name options I like are:

[name_f]Katarina[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Katarina[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Katarina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

Sorry I should have put [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] ? and then you might be more confused if I was sure if I had her or not:)
DD2’s name which could be spelt [name_f]Katerina[/name_f], is not registered yet, and I am trying out other ideas before making it legal plus her middle is not settled.
very sorry.

thank you @ccmcrath. Sounds about where I am at. Each is lovely to me too.
I like your idea about the K nns.
[name_f]Katie[/name_f] & [name_f]Katy[/name_f] even came up the other day. I am heartily sick of the [name_f]Cate[/name_f] spelling from my username so that rules out C beginnings. I have been looking through
Behind the names for other spellings hence the Kath beginning on my sig. but I am not not into creative spelling merely looking at popularity and sibset fit. Thanks again for your reply.

Has anyone considered [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]‘s:Taming of the Shrew’ spelling of [name_f]Katherina[/name_f]?
Could you share your objections? The association with the shrew, the Patriarchal themes of the play or its just looks O TT.?
I realized I left the spelling that way, with the ‘th’ because it is the way I write the name mostly. [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] or [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] look lovely but have a slightly ‘foreign’ feel for me.
I don’t want my daughter to have an outlandish spelling of her name because in this instance I think opposite to most UK. US.AUS or NZ Berries. The acute is unintentional.

I really like Katerina. There are quite a few alternative spellings from different languages - Katarina, Catarina, Caterina, Catharina, Katharina.

I like Katerina and Caterina the most. I think in an English-speaking country the spellings that begin with Cath- or Kath- are likely to be mispronounced.

Middle names:
Katerina Ruth
Katerina Pearl
Katerina June
Katerina Maeve
Katerina Joy
Katerina Faith
Katerina Brooke
Katerina Fleur
Katerina Liv

[name_f]Katarina[/name_f], nicknamed [name_f]Katia[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f], would be my absolute favourite. When I see [name_f]Katherina[/name_f], I want to say Kath-er-een-a. Like [name_f]Kathy[/name_f]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know if I’m pronouncing it wrong though.

I would spell it either [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] or [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Cate[/name_f] or [name_f]Katie[/name_f]/[name_f]Catie[/name_f] as a nn would be adorable!

[name_f]Catharina[/name_f], [name_f]Katharina[/name_f], [name_f]Katarina[/name_f], [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] are my favourites and look best to my [name_m]German[/name_m] eye!

[name_m]IRL[/name_m] I know [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] (3 syllables) and Kataryna (4 syllables)

I would assume the ‘ina’ endings are more standard.
I think [name_f]Trina[/name_f] or [name_f]Taryn[/name_f]/[name_f]Tarin[/name_f] nicknames would work if you didn’t want to use [name_f]Kat[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f].

Thanks everyone for your opinions. It’s helped enormously. [name_f]Katherina[/name_f] sort of fits the partial Shakespearean theme but its not best if its going to be mispronounced.
I am jaded by the C.a.t.e spelling of the nn from my username. I much prefer [name_f]Kate[/name_f] now.
Spelling options resolved.
