I have two children [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], and TTC baby number 3.
After two miscarriages in the last 7 months, I want to choose a name with a special meaning. I went to the GP, and she said the most beautiful and reassuring words; That there was a little star waiting for me to choose them to be my baby. So with these words I wanted the baby to mean star or related names.
We are OK for boys names, but we struggle for girls names.
My name also means star so I thought this would also be a lovely connection
My and my husband like the name [name_u]Seren[/name_u].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it with my other children’s names?
Does it matter if they don’t go well together?
Can anyone come up with any star, constellation or night day meanings maybe?
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] is gorgeous. Its so popular here in [name_m]Wales[/name_m] since it literally means [name_f]Star[/name_f]. I actually knew someone who’s sister was actually called [name_f]Starr[/name_f].
The only name I can think of off the top of my head is [name_f]Astra[/name_f], which I love. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] sort of fits the same sort of theme except its moon, not star. What about [name_f]Starla[/name_f]? There’s also [name_f]Stella[/name_f], but I’m pretty sure that ones [name_f]Sun[/name_f].
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] means star in Persian I believe, it’s a favorite of mine.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is a constellation.
I like [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. Good luck!
I had never heard of [name_u]Seren[/name_u] before and at first it sounded wrong (can’t even explain why, just wrong ), but after saying it a few times it actually starts to sound quite nice. I do think it’s a bit different compared to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], but I don’t think it really matters. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] aren’t too matchy-matchy anyway so I think [name_u]Seren[/name_u] would be just fine.
Some other star names: [name_f]Aster[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Danica[/name_f], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] ([name_f]Estella[/name_f]).
I absolutely love [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. I say go for it, but if you want other ideas…
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]/[name_f]Estella[/name_f]/[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Estrella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - the harp, constellation
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] - the queen, constellation
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] - the princess, constellation
[name_f]Danica[/name_f]
[name_f]Carina[/name_f] - er… a part of a ship, constellation
[name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] - a pretty star in [name_u]Orion[/name_u], though unfortunately has a crazy witch connection
Alhena - [name_u]Gemini[/name_u]'s star, but most likely will be confused with [name_f]Athena[/name_f]. ._.
[name_f]Mimosa[/name_f] - a star in Crux, if I remember correctly.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - one of the pleiades, the seven sisters star.
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] - same as above.
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_u]Vega[/name_u] - [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]'s brightest star, also one of the brightest stars in the sky.
[name_f]Aquila[/name_f] - the eagle, constellation.
[name_f]Adhara[/name_f] - Canis [name_m]Major[/name_m]'s star.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Nova[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], or you could use [name_f]Star[/name_f] as middle name. I’m not fond of [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. Good luck!
What a sweet and encouraging thing for your doctor to say. I hope you have your star-baby.
I don’t really care for [name_u]Seren[/name_u], but it’s a favorite of my husband’s. If both of you love it, I think it’s a winner. I think it sounds fine with your other kids’ names.

[name_u]Seren[/name_u] is very pretty. I think you should use it if it feels right.
My personal favorite is [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. I’ve always like the combo [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] which means bright, radiant star…
I love [name_u]Seren[/name_u], though I prefer it as a middle name personally. Some other suggestions:
[name_u]Dara[/name_u]- means star
[name_f]Danica[/name_f]- means morning star
[name_f]Essa[/name_f]/[name_f]Essie[/name_f]- means star and a pet form of [name_f]Esther[/name_f], but could be used as a nickname for a more conventional name like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Estrella[/name_f]- star in Spanish? (according to google)
definitely charlie, tilly and estelle. stella is a bit to similar to tilly. seren is beautiful but i don’t like it with charlie and tilly.
what about serena? it means peaceful and has seren in it, but it’s more classical like charlie and tilly. you could go for serena estelle for a double star meaning!
I love [name_u]Seren[/name_u] and would use it if my name wasn’t the -eren part of it. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is another one and means star in Latin. I think [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] go well, as do [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].
I also think [name_f]Esther[/name_f] (star), [name_f]Maia[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (constellation) and [name_f]Danica[/name_f] (morning star) go well with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].
