Starting from scratch!

Hello, lovely fellow Berries!! :strawberry: I hope you are all having the most wonderful day! :rainbow:

Recently I have found myself increasingly dissatisfied with my boys’ list, and feeling as if it no longer reflects my style! [name_m]Hence[/name_m] this thread, haha.

I love fanciful and somewhat rare or obscure names as a rule, but any and all suggestions are extremely welcome! Some areas of inspiration to possibly pull from are fairy tales, folklore, literature, nature, mythology of all sorts…you get the picture! :slightly_smiling_face:

Some of my longtime favorites include:

  • [name_m]Castalian[/name_m] “Cas”
  • [name_m]Finvarra[/name_m] “Finch”
  • [name_m]Ilmarinen[/name_m] “Ilya”
  • [name_m]Valemon[/name_m] “Bear”

Thank you very much in advance for any replies I may receive, and have yourselves a great day! :sun: :yellow_heart:

These are perfect!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I particularly love Damhán (such an adorable meaning!), [name_m]Durante[/name_m], [name_m]Emerys[/name_m], Gryffydd, [name_m]Isander[/name_m] & Kingfisher (which would make such a cool middle)!! So…almost every name is a favorite, haha. Have yourself a wonderful day, and thanks again! :yellow_heart:

I’m glad, thank you!

I wanted to add this, since I thought you might find something interesting from it: Dictionary of Medieval Names from European Sources
I haven’t looked through each name myself yet, but I found Dulcedram (masculine, “sweet raven”) on it a while ago which I was considering recommending as well.

(Also, forgive the typo, Theoderic was supposed to be [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m], but Theoderic/h is actually a variant of [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] so I suppose it works?)

Oh, I just love that site!! I have skimmed over the name list a couple of times before, but never actually properly gone through it, so thank you kindly for reminding me! Dulcedram is absolutely wonderful! My dog is named [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f] “Dulcie”, so I am partial to that element, haha. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I hope you have a wonderful day, [name_m]Seth[/name_m], and thanks again!
