After going through my yearbook, [name_m]Ive[/name_m] seen some names that I have seen so many times, I’m done with it! These are the names::
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] (and every other way of “spelling it”)
[name_m]Caiden[/name_m] (and every other way of “spelling it”)
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] (there was 6 girls named [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] in one class.)
What are some names that you can not stand anymore…?
It gets better when you get older and you’re no longer just stuck with people just around your age. When you are one adult among many in a wide range of ages the perception of being surrounded by the fads of your day are diluted. I’m starting to enjoy the names of my generation again.
[name_f]My[/name_f] area has a large Armenian population so there were 3 [name_f]Anis[/name_f] just in my grade. I don’t like [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] as much as everyone else seems to. I’m also kind of tired of [name_f]Ava[/name_f].
I agree with anaxandra.
I am out if college so I’m not in a setting where a certain generation or a few generations of names are. When you get out of those kind of settings usually you get a bigger variety of names.
I do work in a preschool and volunteer at my oldest elementary. So there are names that are irritating to me becuase of how many there are.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]- I have heard 3 boys with this name, and one mom who is expecting is naming her son this. O.o
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Kinley[/name_f]/[name_u]McKinley[/name_u]/[name_f]Kinsley[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]/[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jack[/name_m]/[name_m]Jax[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
I’m really sick of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], Simran, [name_f]Emily[/name_f], and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (1 of each in my year). Surprisingly there are only 2 Emmas in my year. I’m also sick of names I’ve just heard loads, even if I haven’t met anyone with the name, like [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_u]Chris[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (although I do have a cousin called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]), [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] etc. I’m pretty low on boys (I haven’t been around any in a long while) but I do hope there aren’t too many Caspians in 10/15 years! @shannagrace I was quite shocked you know 3.
I’m tired of hearing names like [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] (know 5), [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], [name_f]Joy[/name_f], [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f], [name_u]Joey[/name_u], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]. I know quite a few people with these names in my school. (Sorry, I’m in a girls’ school!)
I’m not in school, but I get really tired of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f]/[name_f]Emma[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmy[/name_f].
And all the made up, crazy spelling names: [name_u]Jayden[/name_u]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]/[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]/[name_u]Addison[/name_u]/Addilynn/[name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]/Brynnleigh/[name_f]Harleigh[/name_f] - ICK! So sick of these. I literally roll my eyes when I find out one of my Facebook acquaintances named their kid something stupid and misspelled.
There are a few names I get tired of hearing but on baby name forums, I do not hear them much outside of the forums. The only two names I started to really tire of hearing were [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] and [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. So, so, so many [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] and Michaels when I was growing up. I am still rather tired of [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], still run into a lot of them, not as tired of [name_u]Michael[/name_u].
These days I tire of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], [name_f]Maddison[/name_f]/[name_u]Addison[/name_u] (and most other “-son” names that are trendy at the current moment). I know of 5 little Noahs and 4 [name_f]Emma[/name_f]/[name_f]Emily[/name_f]/[name_f]Emme[/name_f] kiddos all under the age of 6.
When scrolling through my phone book I noticed that I have many [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]/[name_f]Katelin[/name_f]/[name_f]Katie[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Cate[/name_f]/[name_f]Kaylynn[/name_f] variants and almost as many [name_f]Christina[/name_f] and [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] variations…ahhhh the glorious 80s…
I’m sick of [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. There are 3 [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]'s and 1 [name_f]Rachael[/name_f] in my grade of 250 (boys and girls, so bout 125 girls). Also, on the forums, I’m sick of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. I just can’t stand that name.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] to clarify, there is more than one way to properly spell [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]. Technically the proper forms are [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] and [name_u]Haley[/name_u]. [name_u]Haley[/name_u] being a surname, and [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] being the traditional FN [name_m]Caiden[/name_m] is technically [name_m]Caden[/name_m].
After working in a daycare and an elementary school for college, I am sick of;
As some others noted, I am generally surrounded by people ranging several generations, so it is hard for me to really get sick of a particular name due solely to overexposure. I probably know more people my own age by the name of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] than anything else, but I really do still see [name_f]Emma[/name_f]/[name_f]Emily[/name_f] as classics you can’t go wrong with.
I wouldn’t consider myself overexposed to [name_u]Bentley[/name_u] quite yet, but I’m pretty sure that day is coming.
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]/[name_m]Luka[/name_m] for both genders.
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]. I know 6. Maybe even more.
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]/[name_f]Lina[/name_f]/[name_f]Leni[/name_f]/[name_f]Lana[/name_f] - four-letter L names for girls
bella names
I adore [name_u]Theo[/name_u] but it sounds so boring on somebody else’s kid.
When I was in school we had a ton of [name_f]Brittany[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]'s and [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]'s. I know how it feels to be sick of hearing a name. lol. Nowadays I’m sick of hearing [name_m]Liam[/name_m], Kaizlee/Kaisley, [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]
In the category of classmates (I began elementary school in the 80s): [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_u]Jamie[/name_u], [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_f]Brittany[/name_f], [name_f]Katie[/name_f], [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f]. They definitely haven’t come full circle for me. It seems like every girl I knew in school had an -ee ending name, and I abhor the sound to this day.
Current least faves for babies of people I know/have heard recently: [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], any -son/syn, -den, -belle ending names, [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Jade[/name_f]/[name_f]Jada[/name_f]/[name_f]Jayde[/name_f].
I am pretty sick of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] I have never been a big fan of, and as for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], it is so nice but overused all over the world.
In my generation and area these names were very common:[name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_f]Brittany[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Katie[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_m]Adam[/name_m], [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_m]Scott[/name_m], [name_m]Ben[/name_m], [name_m]Joe[/name_m], [name_m]Brian[/name_m]
I am not around children enough to know which names are now too overused…
But of the few babies being born I do know of most have been [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxson[/name_m] (like 4 of them) and [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] is popular as well as [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]/sophia
So tired of [name_u]Ayden[/name_u]/[name_m]Cayden[/name_m]/[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]/[name_u]Jayden[/name_u] and all other forms of the spellings. For girls, tired of seeing “lee” at the end of a name. [name_f]Brynlee[/name_f], [name_f]Emilee[/name_f], [name_f]Caylee[/name_f]…too overdone and doesn’t look feminine at all.
When I used to coach hockey lessons I had a ridiculous amount of boys named [name_m]Caden[/name_m] ([name_m]Caiden[/name_m], Caydynn, [name_m]Kadin[/name_m] etc), [name_u]Mason[/name_u] (and [name_u]Maison[/name_u]), [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] (5 in one class alone, 7 throughout the whole program), [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] (4- all in the same class), and a decent spread of [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. I had a few girls in my classes and a majority of them were named [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]. Also had an obnoxious, spoiled brat sibset of [name_u]Camden[/name_u], [name_m]Beckham[/name_m], and [name_m]Jaxson[/name_m] and a very prissy mom with kids name [name_m]Stone[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] (pronounced [name_f]Yo[/name_f]-nas of course) so all of those names left an ill impression upon me.
I’m not around other people’s children as much any more so I hear a majority of names on here. I’m growing a little weary of hearing [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], etc.
